Very friendly staff (hello Fernande), in everything they meet. For example, they brought a kettle to the room, which is not in the standard set. They also showed decency by reporting forgotten things at the hotel (we were able to pick them up on the way back). I was also struck by the fact that you can book a room without paying just by calling the hotel and telling the dates and the required rooms. It is located in a quiet place not far from the historical center. There is a small but cozy patio with two tables where you can sit with a laptop, have a bite to eat or just relax from the hustle and bustle of the tourist city. The photo shows a view from the second floor of a single room (street view) and a double room (looking into the courtyard). The same room, but the floor above (and this is the last floor) has its own balcony. In total, and in terms of price and...
Read moreBrilliant hotel in a quiet area but not too far from the centre (walking distance). Yes the rooms are cosy but they’re spotlessly clean with all the amenities present for a comfortable stay. The staff was also friendly and they allowed me to use the main iron and also stored my bag after check out so that I could continue exploring. The hotel is also staffed 24/7 so you need to buzz the front door to get in which means it’s highly safe. The only downside is that the rooms are thin so you can hear people coming up and down as well as the shower being run next door. For me that was a minor as everything else was superb and I felt safe as a solo traveller. Oh, they also provide you with a map upon arrival which is handy but Google maps/Moovit on your phone works just as fine. Will definitely stay here again upon my return to Porto and great...
Read moreI only stayed for one night in a double room on the top floor (3rd floor). Although there is no elevator, the lady at the reception insisted on carrying my bag. The room was a good size for me, good wifi reception, the bathroom had a good size and all the basic amenities. The reception staff was very helpful with information and provided restaurant recommendations when requested. The location is very good in the centre of town. Everything is walking distance from there. The metro Carolina Michaelis is about one kilometre walking distance but only recommended if you have light luggage. Taxis are cheap. Many restaurants around the hotel, e.g., the nice Mexican restaurant, Frida located on a street paralel the hotel. Nice food, deco...
