Taberna du Puorto — Restaurant in Porto

The staff were very friendly and took the time to discuss the menu with us, as it was our first time in Portugal and we weren't sure what to order. I am a vegetarian and most of the main dishes contained meat, but our server went through the whole menu and suggested substitutions which could be made for each one, and even showed us pictures of what some of the dishes looked like. In the end I opted for huevos rotos and she kindly offered to replace the meat with mushrooms. This was followed by a chocolate cake which was incredibly delicious, it was probably the best thing we ate during our entire trip! A lovely family run Taberna serving simple, tasty food that would put a smile on your face. Well cooked food, great service and a lovely relaxed atmosphere that was a highlight of Porto for us. Absolutely amazing place! The family atmosphere is so warm and welcoming – you truly feel at home. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and caring. The interior is beautiful and cozy, and the food… wow. I had meat and chips – the best I’ve ever had (better than many high-end places!).
