Disappointing Service Experience.
We visited this branch of Fūdo Restaurant yesterday ( Jan. 28, 2025 ) around 3pm after an exhausting work, as this is our go-to resto and craving for our comfy foods.
Foods are as usual amazinggg and delicious. 10/10.
But was disappointed by the service I received. A crew member named Ms. Jane had a dismissive behavior. She seemed impatient. Which made the interaction less pleasant than we had hoped.
After we had a good meal, we now approach the cashier to settle our payment. I informed, even asked her ( Jane ) if we had a corporate discount from Primary Health Care Corporation, which I knew there is because, the last time we were there, the crew itself told us that we can have a discount as we are health care provider and part of the SOGHA. I was still even on my uniform, and she without a doubt confidently answered “No. Only Hamad and QA staff we are accepting, and what is PHCC? ( with a make face in front of us ) ”. I even politely again defined what PHCC means to her, and a friend of mine, get the posted of ID’s that were there on top of their counter so that somehow she can try to think and confirmed first, or at least try to ask her superior or colleagues about our query before she dismiss us in that manner.
The only way she accepted my ID was, when I try to approach one of their long time crew ( Ms. Roselle ) - Hope i spell her name correctly, and asked her about our query of corporate discount, and though she was busy, she gave us her attention and listened. Ms Roselle told us to just give your ID again to her, and that’s the only time Jane understood.

Customer service is a crucial part of any business, and this experience left a negative impression. I understand that everyone has busy moments, for we as well do a public service. And we really love the food, the only thing that stops me going back to this restaurant was the staffs, I’ve been dining in here with my boyfriend. And my boyfriend loves the food too. We ate here not just once but like every twice or thrice a month. But what stops us from coming back here are the staffs, idk if all staffs are the same but staffs who served us are making us uncomfortable like we just want to finish eating and go. One time my boyfriend asks for extra sauce (like we always do) for his pepper beef steak, we knew we are going to pay extra for it since it’s in the menu even in talabat. The lady served us the pepper beef steak and told us that the extra sauce is already on top of the beef steak she served with poker face. I mean, how will we know you the extra sauce? And they’re giving us vibes like making us really uncomfortable, staffs are not accommodating and helpful. It’s terrible how they are making us feel every time we are eating there which was so rude. Idk what’s their issues are. I hope you the management will take action on this. This is customer service. I hope staffs here will understand that, don’t make give your customer uncomfortable vibes. Read moreI’ve been exploring sushi restaurants in Doha for over 15 years, and Fudo truly stands out as one of the best. I go there regularly and they have never once failed to impress me. The quality, cleanliness, freshness, and friendly service are always exceptional.
Whenever I have guests visiting from outside the country, Fudo is one of the first places I take them. Without fail, they’re always amazed. It consistently leaves a great impression.
I usually enjoy sharing a variety of dishes with friends, but lately I’ve stuck to my top favorites: Salmon Aburi with Pistachio, Wild Smoking Salmon, Tuna Aburi, and California Maki. These plates are consistently fresh and absolutely delicious. They’re always at the top of my order list.
