Called at El Timon yesterday lunchtime as it was my birthday and was looking forward to a lovely lunch. Asked waiter for cola light and menu - asked if I wanted ice in my drink but I said no. However he said drink would be warm ( no cold cola) so I had ice. After a while he took my order (grilled fish and potatoes). Waited ages before dish of potatoes arrived on my table. No fish arrived and as potatoes were going cold I ate couple of them before another waiter came to clear tables and asked him where my fish was. Waste of time and since everyone around me were getting their meals even though they had arrived after me I'd had enough and decided to leave. Since I'd only eaten 2 potatoes and few sips of warm cola I didn't offer to pay anything. Hadn't walked far when surly woman on till and waiter who'd taken my order came running after me to say my fish was ready - unbelievable! As they were embarrassing me in the street I went back and ate some of my fish and went to pay. Lots of apologies and offer of desert and coffee but I couldn't wait to get away. A birthday meal I...

Review for El Timon

If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience by the water, El Timon is the place to be. Nestled right on the shoreline, this restaurant offers a unique ambiance where you can occasionally see waves rising as high as the first floor, adding a touch of drama to your meal.

The food at El Timon is nothing short of spectacular. Their paella is a must-try, bursting with flavors and loaded with generous portions of seafood and spices. It's a dish that truly captures the essence of coastal cuisine. The serving sizes are impressive, ensuring you leave completely satisfied.

The drinks here are equally impressive, perfectly complementing the delicious food. Whether you're in the mood for a classic cocktail or a refreshing local beverage, El Timon has you covered.

Overall, El Timon combines stunning views, mouthwatering food, and excellent drinks to create an extraordinary dining experience. It's a perfect spot for both casual meals and...

Rude and fraudulent staff! The restaurant is dirty- filthy toilet, dirty glasses, it was really bad. But most of all the staff was rude and unqualified. We order a few dishes, one of which was paella. Menu said that we’ll wait around 30 minutes, ok. But after 45 minutes when we already finished other dishes, and saw that people next to us got their paella (even though they ordered later) we asked about ours. The waiter told us to relax. And then from his spanish discussion with the kitchen we understood that they forgot about us. But he didn’t get back to us with any answer. After 1 your when we asked again he lied that they run out of rice. Still no „sorry”. We got our food after 70 minutes. And still no apology. And then when we got our bill, they tried to chargé us additionally for bread and sauce that we didn’t order! Awful experience! Food was ok,...

Cringe restaurant, you don’t want to eat here. I’ve never felt the need to write a review but this one was worthy… Went here for dinner expecting good food and a great location but we remained highly disappointed. The staff is not welcoming at all and very unprofessional - the waiter smoking together with the cook during the shift on the stairs leading to the terrace and throwing the cigarette in the sea; at some point the music was pumped out loud during dinner; general poor attention towards the customers. The worse part was definitely the food: we ordered fried calamari and they tasted dry and not fresh at all; also the salad they gave us was clearly assembled with cans products. The gran finale came after, when I spent the night puking in the bathroom of my room… Sad to say but this was our worse experience in Tenerife.

The thing is, the food was actually pretty good and tasty. BUT, the tables are very, very close to one another and unfortunately we had a couple smoking cigarettes right next to us. They don't have that many tables so that was our only option. We wanted to order a few small dishes: fish with potatos, shrimp and squid. Over all with two drinks would have cost us about 40€. We thought it was perfect. But then the waiter (who was very unprofessional from the beginning) offered us a fish that was a bit bigger and better for two, because "we have it", he said, and "it's really better for two people" he insisted. We though it was a good idea until the joke of the fish cost us 35€. This really inflated the bill, so we left feeling rather deceived.

the restaurant is over two floors. the second floor is more comfortable because the lighting is warm. the lighting on the first floor is cold, like in an office, it is not suitable for a restaurant. the view from all places is very beautiful, to the bay. the waves wash the walls of the restaurant, creating a cozy atmosphere. the service is good, it's a pity not everyone speaks English, but it doesn't interfere. the menu is also in English. we ate garlic prawns, scallops, and canary potatoes with sauce. everything was perfect. but... you want to blame the bread, it is like many places - it is quite hard on the outside, dried out. if it was lightly crispy it would be perfect. Over all - very nice place to have sea food. Recommend.
