Ubuntu cafe — Restaurant in Granadilla de Abona

We had a very unwelcoming greeting this morning, I could tell as we entered and sat at the table, the waitress was not happy to see us.. She made it very clear with her angry face and attitude. She is not obviously not the owner. We arrived in time to order from the breakfast menu, but was then told breakfast menu was finished. When I mentioned the published timings for breakfast menu needs changing on the menus, she took great pleasure in smirking her reply. We left and went elsewhere. Such a shame as Ubuntu is my go to place for a healthy meal and all the other staff are very welcoming and helpful. Busy cafe catering mostly for tourist. Nice menu with modern options that you would find in the UK, Germany,... (Salmon, eggs, Bagels, breakfast bowls,...) but not necessarily at a tradicional Spanish café. I went there twice because it's opposite the bus stop. Dishes looked nice (fancy presentation) but the food arrived lukewarm to the table, eggs completely cold half way as I was eating them (it was not cold weather).I'm guessing it was a kitchen issue since the waitresses were pretty good at paying attention to everything. I ordered a cafe con leche and I got half a mug of foam, the barista didn't seem to like when I requested to have more liquid added. In summary, nice looking place that might satisfy tourists if you are not too bothered...

Had a little snack here. Coffee was pretty good. Unfortunately, most of the bread choices weren’t available. The vegan sandwich with tofu I ordered without rocket salad was served with a a lot of rocket salad. Taste was a bit boring, I’ve expected a bit more. The sandwich with vegan cheese and avocado was okay, but nothing to write home about. Prices in the restaurant are higher than the ones you get when scanning the QR code outside. Taxes are not included, which is - I guess - illegal in Spain since 2013.
