We had Iftar there on Saturday evening and the atmosphere was excellent, but most of all the serving was extraordinary. We came with no reservation and they found a table for us in no time. As we said we have been fasting the entire day, within 5 minutes we had the appetizers, water and homemade perfect bread on the table.
As we were having our meal, the waiter Cristina was being very careful to what we need and she even accommodated my particular request to try from 2 deserts and split the desert plate.
While we were there, we were impressed with the attention she was paying each customer and we were very unhappy to see that a couple next to us left here a negative review for Iftar, since they were late and very picky and all the staff tried to accommodate them as best as possible, inviting and even accompanying them to the cooked food area to present each dish. They have a smoking area while the restaurant obviously forbids smoking inside. I appreciated that as a smoker.
This is a great place to dine in, we loved it, we loved the food, the atmosphere and the serving, they were impeccable.
We most definitely recommend it and we will return soon to try more dishes from this delicious...
Read moreBeen here on a Saturday at lunch time, expected the place to be full, and it wasn’t. It was my second time at Efes, first time I was impressed and that’s why I wanted so bad to get back and I was happy that it was not crowded, only to leave completely disappointed.
The food is good, but the portions got smaller with the price getting higher since my previous visit (January 2024).
However, what bothered me the most was the service. There is was one sweet lady that I thought was gonna serve us (she did the previous time) and a guy that honestly… he stood by our table like we were preparing to leave without paying. He brought us the menus and literally 2 mins after, asked if we’re ready, then he came back after 2 minutes again to ask if “we need more time”. He was doing “surveillance” as mentioned, like he thought we were about to leave just like that. When we asked for the check and told him to not include the tip on the check, he was visibly shocked, but I’m not sure how someone can expect tipping for doing...
Read moreI am conflicted a bit about this restaurant. I had the hummus, tabouleh and fresh baked traditional bread and it was all VERY good. The hummus was creamy, light and flavourful 9for hummus), the tabouleh was absolutely delicious - a light sweetness due to the pomegranate and the couscous added that little bit extra to each mouthful. The bread was hot, light and pared well with the other 2 dishes. However, the service was completely lacking. The menu us not in english and so it is a good thing I am familiar with many of the items listed. It was HOT outside and I wanted something light to eat but I was basically ignored. Yet, I watched the staff as they were attentive to the other diners (all local or spoke Romanian) as I sat waiting for anyone to see if I wanted anything more. I paid my bill and left. Good food - but...
