Way under expectations. They have a lot of great reviews, but our experience was not the same.
Food: we were 4 people and 3 of the main dishes were tasteless or with very strange consistency. The food was looking great, but some of it had no salt, pepper, or other spices on them. I had beef steak and shrimps . The beef was so soft that it had really strange consistency. It does not feel like meat. Shrimps were a bit "ardente" for us.
Services:
We appreciated the free hot turkish tea served as welcome, although just one of us drinks it.
We asked for 2 glasses of red wine and other drinks. The red wine was served warm, too warm to enjoy and appreciate it. (aprox. 200ml small bottles poured into glasses). We asked the waiter what type of wine they serve, and he does not know that the brand of the winery is not the type of wine.
We asked for a different sidedish to be served with one of the dishes (grilled vegetables instead of the default rice). Waiter: "Not Posible". It's really strange for us to receive such a strong NO. When you have a condition and you ask that on all the restaurants, and find such an attitude on a restaurant with such reviews and prices, it is awkward. We had to mention that we will pay separately for the requested sidedish.
Response to our feedback: I tried to give them feedback after we paid. The waiter told us that tasteless food is on purpose as other guests were upset by the fact that food was too spicy. By the way, we had to ask for salt and pepper because they were not on the table.
With this response and his somehow upset attitude, I considered that there is no use to continue with the feedback.
Not coming back. There are plenty of way cheaper and way better restaurants in...
Read moreThis is an extraordinary restaurant, one of the best I have been to and we live in Boston where there are quite a few very good restaurants and eateries.
We went there several times while visiting Bucharest and each time it was consistent, diverse in flavors and everything we had was extremely good tasting food. I strongly recommend their hummus and “Tocană de legume pe platou încins” from the Specialties which is a mixture of eggplant, red bell peppers, special Romanian squash (a lighter green version of zucchini), garlic etc. sautéed with spices, including a very nice oregano and served in a hot clay pot, vegetarian and absolutely amazing!
And I cannot forget the grand finale-crepes filled with ice cream, Nutella and Mascarpone. Divine.
But as I mentioned above everything there is great. The staff is friendly and the service impeccable. I highly...
