It was ok, as a word summarising the whole experience. The service: We didn't like it. We were late, so the guy there was a bit rude, like we were late on his time. I think that the video at the beginning was meant to tell a story, but it was useless, so we've lost a few minutes watching it. The AC was off and we didn't know we can action it. The light was too dim for us to see everything we needed in the clues, so we spent too much time on some of them. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because of the game itself, which was The Coven and it was good. Just so you know (because they didn't tell us), you're not allowed to use your phones in the game and you have to put them in the locker before you start, otherwise you will be warned and maybe disqualified. Yes, even though you are not playing this for free, you cannot have your phones with you. I need to highlight the fact that the AC and the light were two factors that made the experience a bit annoying. It's a pity, as we liked the game and the clues.
Reply to your comment below: I'm replying as there may be other customers that will read this and get some information that was overlooked in our case. I don't want anyone to think that we're overreacting and they should know what could get in the way of their fun, as there is some misinformation in your reply. The fact that we have to come 15 minutes earlier was not mentioned in the reservation (as all the needed information should have been). This is only mentioned in the FAQ, not anywhere in sight, so who has the time to read everything that is on the website? You can say how many times you want, but the reality is that you did not tell us that the phones were not allowed. The guy there only informed us to leave the personal belongings in the locker. Without the flashlight of a phone, we could not solve one of the puzzles, as the light was too dim and its details could not be seen in the darkness, as I just mentioned. We didn't have any other light to use that was already in the room, so we were lucky there, as we used a flashlight and you didn't...
Read moreWe played Tahicardia as a group of 3 (somewhat experienced) players. It was definitely one of the best rooms in Bucharest. Everything is fully automated. The lighting and sound effects are on point. The atmosphere itself is eerie but I wouldn't call it scary, so it's a good fit even for the faint of heart. There aren't any jumpscares, just some loud sounds that could startle you as well as occasional flashing lights.
The difficulty of the puzzles is just right, neither too hard nor too easy. The variety of the puzzles was good too, some requiring handiness, some logic, some physical effort (nothing too intense). The room itself is linear, so only one puzzle can be done at a time. There are quite a few mechanics I haven't seen before which was a nice touch.
The experience itself is pretty long, with a lot of things to do, but it doesn't get boring or tiring. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this room as a first escape experience, because although there is plenty of time (100 minutes), the complexity of the room can make it overwhelming for someone who isn't used to escape room mechanics. However, as I said, nothing is particularly difficult and everything in the room makes sense, so once you gained a little experience (1-2 rooms, just to see what to expect), go for it!
Last but not least, we had the pleasure of meeting one of the best (and clearly very experienced) game masters here, Stefania. She was very fun, transparent and reassuring at the start, and during the game she intervened a little to prevent us from wasting a lot of time after she saw we didn't notice something opening, which we were grateful for. At the end she even helped us with a posing suggestion for our picture and gave us plenty of suggestions for other top tier escape rooms. 10/10 host, we're excited to return for the other rooms as soon as possible (looking at you, Coven 🤩).
Thanks for the experience and sorry for the wall of text....
Read moreThree stars because of the guy that greeted us. We played “The Coven”. It’s a nice room, fully automated but without a solid story that makes sense in the room. The room itself is highly detailed and it is engaging but i think it could have a better story behind. Coming back to what i said in the beginning, the guy that greeted us was very bored and at times made us feel like we were not fully welcome. The price was also a bit steep compared to other rooms that are on the same level or better (see Trapped or BreakOut escape rooms). Also, the visibility of the location is a bit poor since we came when it was dark and there were no signs to lead us towards the entrance that is positioned in the back; it felt like we were entering someone’s house... Overall it was an ok experience, but not very convincing to return.
Later edit: As i can't reply to my review, i will just post my answer here. Thank you so much for replying to my review, Cristian. You understand wrong. Our group was 10 minutes late to the scheduled booking and we take full responsibility for that. That doesn't justify the attitude that your employee had towards us, nor the other things I mentioned in my review. If your attitude is to blame the customers for the things they did wrong, then this says a lot about how you handle your business. Now you convinced us...
