Duke Armeneasca Hotel — Hotel in Bucharest

Disliked · The room was smaller than the one we saw in the pictures and no way that it was 25sqm as indicated on the website. The bed was definitely not a queen size as indicated. We asked for another blanket. The receptionist brought it without sheets for it and said that we have to wait for the morning. In the morning we had to talk to the manager, who didn't seem too surprised to see that the pictures do not match the actual room, but regarding the bed size - he actually came up to the room with a measuring tape, and to his "surprise" discovered that the bed is only 1.4m wide. (By some standards it's not even a double bed). After lots of arguing, we got a larger room that matched the pictures, but the bed was still 1.4m wide.

In general, the service and the attitude were bad. A simple request from the reception to borrow a couple of wine glasses had to become an actual argument until they "gracefully" agreed to provide us with 2 glasses.

There were countless other problems, like the balcony door that could not be locked in the first room, and someone could easily enter the room from the next-door balcony or the tiny "safe" box that wasn't attached to anything in the room and could be easily carried out in a bag.

Average location, kind of dangerous after 22:00, near the city centre. On the pros, very clean room, changing towels every day, very comfortable bed, and very spacious bathroom with new furniture.also very good central heating.On the cons , poor breakfast, needs improvement and lack of communication (poor English) with the staff... Also our room did not have a small balcony which was a problem considering the very nice weather during our visit and...

The room waa very nice, clean, and spacious. The amenities were great. There were slippers in my room, a shower with side streams, and even shoe polish! The wifi internet waa very good for Bucharest. The staff was very friendly, especially the male receptionist. The rate is very reasonable. The location is great, as it is only 10 minutes from the University Square.
