The place looks very nice and inviting, it's quiet although it's in a shopping mall, the food is nice mostly and the prices are decent for this kind of restaurant but the service does not meet the expectations. We have visited twice, it was never crowded, like 5-6 tables with guests, no more. First time after some waiting when the food arrived I have discovered the soup was extremely salty, almost inedible. I requested to change it and they did it quite quickly so I can say it was OK and that's why we decided to come again. Second time it was, again, Saturday night, at arrival probably 4 tables were occupied, when we left, about 1/3 of the capacity. We were 3 adults and a child, ordered a selection of sushi and some warm dishes for the adults. Cooked food has arrived quite quickly and then we waited for more than an hour for thd sushi platter, the child ate nothing in the meanwhile and naturally was hungry snd obset. Seems weird enough to bring the main courses that required cooking first and in a short time, and then to wait a lot for sushi which obviously did not require cooking, all this in a restaurant that was mostly empty. The waitresses passed nearby, then stayed by the counter, chatting and ignoring us and all the other clients. When we asked why does it take so long and complained about keeping the child hungry for over an hour, they just said they were busy with takeaways ( indeed, there were a few big orders brought for delivery), but I don' t see this as an excuse for ignoring customers that were sitting there. They didn't apologise or offer something to compensate for inconveniences. In conclusion, although food and design are nice, the lack of adequate service and planning doesn' t make visiting this place an experience worth waisting...
Read moreGood sushi, however the experience was not nice at all. I arrived close to 21:30 so knowing kitchen might be closed I asked if we can come in to eat. They said yes. However the waiter kept going back and front close to our table so I understood to rush the order.
The girl at the bar seemed bothered by me asking where can I find a bathroom, I find this behavior rude.
The waiter came one more time to check one item on the order, however when order came, it was wrong.
Given the late hour, it s understandable from my side. I eat also pretty fast and went to pay before 22:00.
I chose to pay by card and waiter asked me directly if I want to leave a tip. This is the first time I am asked to tip straight forward. I am given the options in general but not in my face.
I said “No”. The waiter had a very angry face. I do not support this kind of behavior in restaurants. If it too much to get one more client, please do say so, don t agree to serve them and make them feel unwelcome.
Quite rude from my perspective. Both waiter and...
Read moreK, here's The Concise Deal™: There are TWO Sushi Terras in the Promenada Mall. This one is on the first floor (keep in mind that in Romania there's the ground floor ("parter"), 1st floor, 2nd floor). This Sushi Terra has a classier/business atmosphere, with lots of large booths accommodating groups of 6 - 10 people. For a more casual atmosphere, go to the other Sushi Terra, on the 2nd floor. The decor is nice, with aquariums with live fish! The sushi looked delicious both in the menu and in reality. The baked sushis were good, though they could be a bit creamier and hotter. However, baked sushi is a rare find in Bucharest, and several fancier places don't have them!
This sushi place reignited my love for Promenada Mall :) Would...
