Dissapointing! Just wanted a draft beer, whatever they had that came in a beer mug, NOT in a beer glass, for the more genuine experience. The waiter that came to ask for my order was totally unprofessional. The only menu I found on the table next to me only included food items, thus, I was forced to ask for info about the draft offer they had, tough I would have preffered a drink menu. Waiter, seemed tired and dragging, so, instead of offering a drink menu, he turned around towards the bar, 10m away, pointing at whatever beer was there, that I could not make out... Finally, I just ordered a beer, one that came in a mug. I was told that there were no beers that came in a mug. He was absolutely offended when I pointed out at least two customers that had beer mugs in front of them at other tables. The bored waiter pointed out that those mugs are for Guiness. I asked if Guiness was not considered a beer...?! Not buying my confusion, waiter asked how many beers I wanted, or anything else for that matter. I was not ready for anything else. He pointed out that because of my statement, he wanted to charge me on the spot so that he does not have to come back at the table! I politely asked for only I one beer right now, and if I felt I wanted a second, I would let him know. He was displeased with my resolution and reminded me he would not come back, because he said: "I already walked kilometers today" and that if I wanted another beer to go further in the airport to another restaurant. That was nice, right?! Finally, I was brought a warm beer ( in a warm mug), I paid on the spot, and decided to write this review. Since I started to write this review, the waiter is arguing something with a couple at another table. FYI, the beer was 44 RON, about 9.00 Euro(s). Next time I will take his advice; find another...
Read moreVery hip burger bar which is always packed.
We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed, good thing we had a reservation. Many guests were refused during our stay because they did not have a reservation and there were no more tables.
The place is modern with an industrial design and loud music (maybe a bit too loud). It looks cool and it feels cool. The only downside is related to the temperature, as it was cold outside when we visited, and inside it was way too warm. Overall, the AMBIENCE gets 4/5.
The waiters were polite and the service is prompt, but it feels a bit rushed (in less than 1 minute after we opened the menu, we were asked if we are ready to order). Since the place is always packed, maybe they want to expedite all customers to get more business? The SERVICE gets 4/5.
We had some beer and some lemonade, and both were excellent, therefore DRINKS get 5/5. The food is also very good, as we had some soup, and of course fries and burger. The soup and the fries were both excellent, but the burger was only average. And since this is mainly a burger place, I had higher hopes. Therefore the FOOD gets 4/5.
Overall, this place gets a 4.25 / 5.00 rating. If the burger was better, I would have rated this...
Read moreI was here with a small group of work colleagues. We heard all the hype around Vivo and wanted to check it our ourselves.
The place has ample space and seating, although it does feel a little crowded. There is also a small terrace, but the street is one of the busiest in Bucharest so can't recommend eating outside. I also found the place to be too low lit and the muaic way too loud. They were playing loud club music in a Tuesday at 7 PM.
The serving is okay, not the fastest, nor the slowest, but they also offer takeaways so it's understandable. The burgers are good, but I wouldn't rate them the best in town. Let's say an 8/10. The fries however are frozen products and they do not have wedges in the menu. The dippings are not locally made, they use bottled supermarket dressings. We wanted a garlic mayo dip for the fries and they gave us a spoon of bottled stuff for 2 RON.
The beverage menu seems to be focused on wines, cocktails and spirits. They offer a handful of beers and classic soda refreshments. Wish they had more in these departmenta.
So all in all barely 4/5 for Vivo, not living up the...
