My husband and I fell in love with this place on our first visit here for breakfast. The food was definitely a cut above: tasty, fresh, very well presented, etc.
The atmosphere is beautiful and unique, with lovely artistic vignettes reminiscent of Paris in its golden era. :) I loved the dusty books, antique frames and candle wax decor.
The music selection we enjoyed the first morning was lovely. It set a wonderful mood for our meal.
We loved it so much that we returned the next day for breakfast, even though we had many other local choices and recommendations for breakfast venues.
The only detractors from our experience the following day were the bread - which wasn’t fresh (my husband was given the crusty, dry end piece) and, unfortunately, the awful - and at times misogynistic - lyrics of the country music soundtrack which we hated! It was a big departure from the first impression of the previous day. It was also much louder and grating, not allowing for conversation.
My advice, as a discerning, experienced traveler, is to please turn down the volume a tad, and scrap the country music soundtrack - which truly takes away from the overall atmosphere. (As a woman, I don’t want lyrics that put me in the same demeaning category as a whiskey beverage for men!)
The decor and ambiance are far too original and artistic to compromise when classier soundtracks would be exceedingly more complimentary.
Also, please don’t serve the dry end piece of the bread. :) May sound petty but it takes away from the great food quality.
Overall, I’d still highly recommend this place. The food was great and so was...
Read moreRarely do you come across a place that gets everything right. From the warm atmosphere, the curtious staff, the incredible food, the presentation, and even the prices were beyond any of our expectations. We will be back for breakfast, lunch and dinner! 5 stars!
Wow! Unfortunately, we decided to go back for breakfast 2 days later and I'm forced to drop the 5 star review to a 3 star. The music, which had been a beautiful blend of soulful and comforting mix at a prefect volume for conversation, to a much louder mix of mostly U.S. country music? I have nothing against country music, especially if I'm in a bar somewhere, but in this atmosphere, it was completely the wrong choice and made us strain to have a basic conversation. Secondly, I recieved stale and dry, crusty bread with my omelet, which I wouldn't have minded if anyone at any point came to check up on us during our meal. Even when the waitress finally came to remove our dishes with my untouched bread still on the plate, she didn't ask us how it was. The final insult came with the bill. We ordered the exact same items as previously except for the omelets, which were cheaper, but still somehow, it was over 20 Lai more than our previous breakfast bill? To say we were disappointed is saying it lightly and since no-one asked us there, I am left to voice my opinion here in this review. I hereby retract my earlier recommendation and have regrettably lost my appetite for ever returning to Albert Social Bistro again...
Read moreOur favourite place in Braşov , returning after almost 10 years and being extremely excited .
Unfortunately we were let down by the service and approached .
Front of house approach not as welcome and warm .
Great selection of food , wine is always creat but is a bad impression when you see the chefs seating down on the surface they cook on (is visible from the entrance ), also toilet and lavatory conditions are against every expectation (see picture below ).
Maybe this place deserve someone that knows that is thinking about , I mean wine and food …because of now is a real disaster ./waiters with no experience , no wine knowledge or hospitality in general ..also members of staff seating at the bar giving bad look to the customers there to have fun and enjoy great moments together …..
Definitely we will rerun and looking for better ..as is an amazing and unique place that I would like to redolent to all tourists...
