The Muzeul Civilizației Urbane is a fascinating journey into the urban history and cultural evolution of Brașov. Housed in a beautifully restored historic building in the heart of the city, the museum offers a detailed exploration of urban life from the 17th to the 20th century. The exhibits include a rich collection of furniture, clothing, household items, and documents that vividly depict the lifestyle, architecture, and social dynamics of the era. Each room is meticulously arranged to reflect different aspects of urban civilization, offering visitors an immersive experience. The museum’s blend of history and culture makes it a must-visit for anyone interested in the development of Brașov and its...

This is one of the newer museums in the city and the concept and curation are exemplary, on a par with similar museums from places such as Krakow or Prague.

However, this being Romania there are things where they fall short. First of all, there is a ridiculous photo surcharge that is not worth paying for what you get to experience overall. Second, the descriptions of the items and the rooms are mixed and at points lacking. Third, the audio guide tedious and at times inaccurate. It's a pity that they seem to be more interested in milking money than offering a pleasant and informative museum experience.

That being said and while the museum is small it still remains probably the...

Amazing place that holds parts of history about Brașov's city civilization. Like any other museum you get a glimpse from the town's history but what makes this place different are the people within it. They are passionate about history, and they love to share their knowledge and give you a new view over history. Besides that, they organise different themed events, that connects history with local cuisine and drinks. Definitely...

This place tells the history of commerce in Brasov. It is well kept with good lighting, a comfortable atmosphere and nice exhibits. However, a lot of the artefacts do not have much description, and the audio guide (at least in English) is robotic and hard to listen to. I paid 20 lei to enter and took about 30 minutes to complete.
