🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Review for Gogol (Гоголь) 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gogol (Гоголь) and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I stepped through the door, the friendly and attentive service made me feel right at home. 👏
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the traditional Ukrainian Борщ борщ with Сало. 😋🍲 The flavors were absolutely mouthwatering, and the presentation was a feast for the eyes. The rich and hearty broth paired perfectly with the tender pieces of Сало, creating a truly unforgettable culinary experience. 🇺🇦🍽️
To complement my meal, I indulged in a refreshing Компот. 🍹🍒 The fruity blend was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy, and it added a lovely touch to the overall dining experience.
As if that wasn't enough, I also had the pleasure of trying their baked liver with baked apples. Oh my, it was a heavenly combination! The liver was cooked to perfection, so tender and succulent, and the baked apples added a hint of sweetness that perfectly complemented the savory flavors. 😍🍎
The entire dining experience at Gogol (Гоголь) was simply outstanding. The friendly staff, cozy ambiance, and exceptional service made me feel like a valued guest throughout my visit. The attention to detail and the passion for traditional Ukrainian cuisine truly shines through in every dish. #DeliciousFood #YumYum

Read moreLocation - great
Interior - very cosy, very warm and welcoming.
Food - having eaten in other places in St. Pete, this is average, nothing special.
Service - terrible!!!! The waitress was friendly and we should have known from that, too friendly is too good to be true. They have a long list of wines, we wanted something dry to go with the chicken and fish we were ordering. The waitress recommended a Gewurztraminer, one of my friends noted that it's actually sweet and it wouldn't go with the dishes but she insisted it's dry and it will go well with chicken and fish. so we went ahead and ordered a Gewurztraminer and guess what, of course it's sweet. Even on the bottle it said semi sweet!! We told the waitress we wanted to change to dry wine, she hesitantly wanted to say no but when we insisted, she went ahead and came back with her manager, who insisted the same thing...."there is nothing wrong with the wine, it's dry"!!. I guess they can't read..... or they need to invest money in hiring a sommelier. Anyway, we ordered another Sauv. Blanc bottle and took the Gewurztraminer bottle home. Moral of the story ....dont trust a waitress, no matter how friendly and smiley she is. Or even better, trust your own gut, if you know the wine is sweet, stick to that, don't trust a waitress who pretends to know about wine but knows nothing of...
Read moreGogol Restaurant in St. Petersburg is a restaurant styled as a 19th-century writer's apartment, with an atmosphere of Russian classics. The interior includes four themed rooms: a 22-person dining room with porcelain and still lifes, a 6-person train compartment-style sofa room, a 12-person living room with live music in the evenings, and a study with busts and books for business meetings. The decor combines antique furniture, vintage details, and even a bird cage. The menu is based on Russian cuisine with pre-revolutionary names: borscht on goose, salad with muksun, lamb cutlet, fish soup according to an old recipe, kulebyaka with salmon and white fish, and cherry dumplings. I have mixed reviews: the atmosphere is great, the music is wonderful, and some of the dishes are excellent, but there are also dishes that are a disappointment: for example, I didn't like the borscht, the cucumbers were overcooked with poor-quality ingredients, and the salad with Baku tomatoes had an interesting taste, but the tomatoes themselves were limp. This is a place for lovers of historical aesthetics and Russian cuisine. I definitely recommend a visit. Order goose borscht, kulebyaka, herring with potatoes, and jelly with mustard. The menu is uniquely designed and stylized to look old, with quotes from...
