I've been today in Arbat street's Teremok between 13:00 and 13:10. I was in the queue, and then two ladies came in (one brunette and one blonde, dressed like French style, those who go around the city centre in those kind of costumes). When it was my turn, the brunette jumped in and quickly started making her order. I can speak some Russian but is not as good as to engage in this kind of situation fluently so I said in English that I was first. The brunette seemed rather surprised and looked at me. Then I said that I was before her in the queue. She replied to me in Russian, which i understood, she said: What are you saying!? I even don't understand what you're saying! And she continued ordering her meal. The shop assistant knew that I was first and seemed a little embarrassed (I'd been there for long while the people before me was making their order and before the ladies came in). However and unfortunately, the assistant started processing the brunette's order. So I only said "до никогда" and I quit. Very disappointing. Of course, I won't...
Read morei really enjoyed this uniquely russian fast food. a real life saver when it's so bitterly cold outside and you can't find a decent inexpensive warm restaurant to eat. and also they have at least a clean toilet to relieve oneself as public toilets are hard to find in northern europe/ russia. usually not crowded but they served warm decent food albeit in styrofoam cups and plates. nevertheless i did have some local russian food in tepemok. ate twice...
