Molon Lave — Restaurant in Presnensky District

This is the first time I tried Greek food in Moscow and there were certainly good dishes but I was not as blown away as when I first read the menu. Maybe I've been a bit spoiled for excellent food choices in Moscow but this was good without standing out. For example, the tomatoes in the tomato salad weren't the best which is kind of important when that's the whole dish. Don't think I didn't have any highlights though. The mixed seafood grill was really good in my opinion with a lovely charred smoky flavor like you get on a true grill. The lamb was also very succulent and full of flavor. Other dishes like the octopus however were a bit overcooked or over-marinated making it too soft in my opinion. It became our cantine 😊 My brother adores this place and we go there very often. I have to admit, that we are treated there as a Tzars 😊 I have read some discrediting comments about the service- I don’t believe in it. They have a very warm, friendly atmosphere. I would have gave them 7 stars if I could have a possibility. Their food deserves another few lines. I was on a diet when we went there, however they have managed to prepare everything I’ve asked them, even few things out of menu. Each Thursday’s they have their famous goat made by old recipes. For me, this is the one and only Greek restaurant in Moscow. Period. We’ve been here again few days ago. I’ve tried Musaka- which is delicious. Service is as usually- exceptional. Well... I have no idea who gave this place 5 star reviews. I just had a late lunch there and to cut it short: food wasn’t good; mussels that I ordered in tomato sauce arrived with a feta cheese instead; after my request to remove the cheese since I don’t eat it another 40 min followed before the mussels arrived. I assumed it’s only because I reminded about 10 minutes prior to that, since it surely doesn’t take more than 10 minutes to cook the mussels. And the biggest disappointment was Aperol Spritz - watery icy drink, cheap bar style.
