Voskhod — Restaurant in Tverskoy District

What a great place!

Went here for lunch as we have been to this owner's othet restaurants and have liked all of them. The attention to detail in each of his restaurants is amazing.

All the waiting staff have uniforms and girls have signature red lips, this is true for all his restaurants. The concept is thought through and very esthetically pleasing.

The location of the restaurant itself is great, especially if you are doing sightseeing od Moscow. Just after visiting the Red Square and the Bolshoi theater come here to Zaradje park and after a million photos taken, come here for lunch. The view and the food is wonderful.

They have a lovely selection of vines, we miss Austria so we took this gorgeous Grüner Veltliner from Krems and it was delicious. The staff could have been faster with filling up out glasses but to be honest, I do tend to empty them at a super fast pace.

We had 4 starters of seafood and they were excellent, we especially liked crab with vologda butter. Delicious food, beautiful interior and relaxed atmosphere, what more can one ask...

Very disappointed. Booked a table in advance hoping to impress my foreign visitors but it went completely wrong. We got a table right by the stairs and in a sunny spot by the window, although there were plenty of empty tables. It was very hot and people passing by all the time. The dress code is a joke cuz they just let anyone in, no matter what they are wearing. The food was average and the service was really bad. Two of us ordered the same dish of fish and the waitress forgot about it completely so we had to wait for and hour and a half while the rest of the party had already finished eating. It arrived barely warm and to top it off both of us got food poisoning afterwards! I do not recommend...

The food here is very good and with lots of variety, and authentic food from USSR days. Unique theme (Russian space program), excellent atmosphere and very nice design. The band was also very nice (although a little amateur at times). The only downside was the service - while the dish serving and clearing was very professional, the seating (where they couldn't decide if they have a place for us or not), and payment (where we had to ask for the bill three times, after we waited 20 minutes) were not a pleasant experience (it would also help if the waiters were just friendlier in general, but I realize it is not common to see this in...
