I must first say how absolutely enjoyable being out and about with the hubs was. Being able to sit in a restaurant and have a meal together was something I didn't realized I missed so terribly, with that said ....the review. Now I have to mention this is not my first time to Sapporo we used to frequent the Chinatown location often before we all did time in timeout( my version of quarantine). Today was our first visit to this location. I'm beyond happy, since this took 10-15 minutes off my one way commute to Sapporo. They have you enter in one door and exit through a different door. Masks are NOT optional and they do take each guests temperature. While waiting for your table you must do so outside of the resturant as they also enforce social distancing. We opted for in the car for ac. Our wait turned out to be less than 5 minutes. They seat every other table. The restaurant is set up like the other location and is impeccably clean. The staff are extremely warm and always available should you have questions. They offer the conveyor belt food as well as many items from the kitchen. The belt on this visit had ample choices. Belt choices are $2.50 a plate. I personally love AYCE but if thats not available set plate prices are the next best thing. Now be warned if you order from the kitchen 85% of the menu is not $2.50. We ordered 4 oysters ($2.50 each), a soft shell crab($4.95) and rice net shrimp ($4.95) to start. As well as a glass of plum wine ($5) myself and begrudgingly the hubs go a Dr Pepper since he's a coke fan and they have Pepsi. . They were out of iced tea which was our first choice. The oysters were quite good, very fresh and pre loosened from the shell. You would be surprised how many places do not do this, including some local oyster bars. Only negative comment sizes were inconsistent. The sift shell crab was not only very visibly appealing but mouth watering. Its served on a beautiful plate on top of a creamy almost velvety carrot puree, drizzled with eel sauce and perfectly fried. Not oily whatsoever. It was so delicious I ended up ordering a second one later in the meal . The rice net shrimp was a first but not a disappointment at all. Again very beautifully plated, not something I expect from a belt sushi place but SO very appreciated. These nice little packages are a burst of flavor with each bite. Perfectly fried as well and it comes with a small dollop of tater. We also had sea bass, Japanese mayo shrimp, Japanese mayo salmon, New Zealand salmon, lobster popcorn, octopus, unagi, lemon shrimp, sexy mama, hold em, banzai roll. I will spare you a review of each of the above items as this review is already approaching war and peace lengths. But I would be doing a disservice if I didn't mention dessert. I ordered the honey toast since its a favorite of mine. If you haven't heard of it, this is what it is: bread from which the inside is cut into little cubes, caramelized, then packed back inside and topped usually with ice cream, and Oh my heck it was HUGE forget toast I swear it was a quarter loaf of bread. The honey-coated outer side of the bread is crunchy while the inside is warm and soft; then add delicious ice-cream, and drizzle it with smooth milk chocolate and it becomes an incredibly mouth-watering decadent dessert. After that first bite it'll be very clear to you why this bread is loved by everyone. This is a sharable item, so be warned leave room. And there you have it. This meal set me back a bit over $100. But worth each and every chop stick full. I highly recommend giving them a try. And belt sushi is the perfect way to try new rolls without having to eat 7 pieces. Catch you at the next...
Read moreI came here when i started working next door and i loved it the staff the food and the last three or four times iv came in over the last few months i just keep getting turned off to the place from service just being the absolute worst example i waited 30 minutes for silver ware one time by the time I finally got it my food was cold. I had gone up 2 times in 30 minutes asking for some and they said that they had sent someone on the way never happened. I’ve come in to pick up food late as I get off 30 minutes prior to the sign saying when they close the doors are locked. I tried to call 15 minutes prior to that. No one answered tonight I walk in at 10:09pm well their doors say 11 the first thing out of the servers mouth as we close at 10:45 so make sure you’re done eating you’ve got about 40 mins First and foremost, are you out of your damn mind we’re living in an economy after Covid a service industry that isnt anywhere close to what it once was to push people away like that to turn them off to a restaurant even you probably should be a little educated before you make that decision because you’re hurting the business Just because your sign says you close at 11 does not mean you’re walking out the damn door at 11 you have chores don’t push people out of the door on your time because you don’t want to be here after the posted clothes of the restaurant you do your closing chores after people leave if you can get them done prior good for you but you don’t ruin business because you don’t want to be here until after the post in time and I hope your manager and the owner reads this it’s one thing to tell people that when you’re slow but when half the restaurants full maybe you should look into getting a different job one that you’re not in the service just one thing after another I hope this changes i used to come at least once a week and over the last five months I’ve come three times each time I remember why I haven’t come in so long thank you for ruining my experience
I think I’m even more about all had already posted this after watch the server go over to the table, telling them that they didn’t have time to order anything else because they were...
Read moreService was doing their best to keep up. Biggest complaint is they obviously are not changing the deep fry oil enough. Everything deep fried that’s not covered in something sweet was almost not edible because the dirty oil taste. The cheese tonkatsu was served burnt and saturated with the bad oil. They told me they were out of the filet steak but then came back and said they do have it. My wife ordered one but when it came out it was something far from filet or even ribeye that they offer. Not sure what it was but you could tell they hatched scored it in an attempt to tenderize it. It didn’t work. It was also covered in a balsamic reduction that was not very reduced. Pork in the pork buns was off and couldn’t eat it. The nigiri sushi from conveyor was just so so. The simple rolls from conveyor better than the specialty rolls or the nigiri.
The sexy lady roll was amazing. The spicy tuna and California hand rolls very good. Popcorn lobster good but would of been great if not that dirty oil.
Will try it again at another time but there’s much better sushi places to chose from for price. It’s worth the experience at least once.
Bill came to $120. 1 steak 2 orders of pork buns 5 hand rolls 1 specialty roll 1 popcorn lobster bowl 1 cheese tonkatsu 7 plates from...
