DISHONEST CASINO THAT EMPLOYS SHADY DEALER'S.......I stopped in on a Thurs afternoon to play some blackjack. The table gaming area was quiet with most tables empty. I layed down $500 (4 100's and 5 20's) at an empty $25 min table and pushed it toward the dealer, Damone.. I turned away briefly to text my wife and then sat down. I immediately noticed $400 in four stacks of $25 chips in front of my seat. When I told Damone he shorted me $100 in chips, he replied that i gave him $400 cash. I disagreed and told him I was sure I gave him $500. i told Damone to call the pit boss over and they would have to review the camera footage. I also showed Damone on my phone where I had withdrawn $900 from my bank 10 min prior to walking into the casino to gamble, and showed him the $400 I had left in my pocket. Damone immediately removed a stack of (4) $25 chips from his tray, pushed them in front of me and said "There's your $100" in a low voice. Shocked and knowing his actions were not normal for a dealer in this situation, I asked Damone why he would just give me $100 in chips if he felt he gave me the correct amount, initially. Why not review video footage to confirm if a mistake was made...He just looked at me and didn't say anything. I asked Damone if it was his first day. He smirked and said, no. Now I'm pissed and demanded to speak to a pit boss. After explaining to the pit boss what happened, he was indifferent of my concerns about the dealer's actions and made a phone call. He said they would review the video to see what happened. A few minutes later, he rec'd a call and said the video showed I gave $480 for chips. I lol'd and had a few words for the pit boss and asked if that was normal protocol for a dealer in this situation. He acted unconcerned and said sometimes dealer's make mistakes. As mentioned previously, the caino was dead and I was the only player at Damone's table...hardly a valid scenario of a busy table and making an honest mistake. After going back and forth with the pit boss and another "manager" from the video room for close to 30 min, I left minus $20 without playing a hand...As crazy as it may sound, after my interaction with the pit boss and other manager, I'm not so sure Silverton doesn't condone this behavior from their dealer's. In the words of John Cerasani, Silverado casino...
Read moreIt seems like most of the 5-star reviews may be from employees or guests who received complimentary rooms or meals. From the moment you step out of your car in the parking garage, loud music is blasting, making it hard to hear anything around you—which doesn’t feel very safe.
There’s no air conditioning in the elevator lobby, and the old elevators themselves are also not cooled. That’s concerning, especially if someone were to get stuck in one on a hot day.
Inside the casino, you're immediately hit with a strong smell of smoke. The carpet on the casino floor looks like it hasn’t been cleaned or updated in a long time—it's completely blackened. Many of the employees, especially the slot attendants, come across as very rude and unwelcoming, almost like they don’t want to be there. I also noticed a distinct difference in how guests are treated; if you’re not Filipino, the staff may ignore you or give you unpleasant looks. However, the white waitresses seemed friendly.
The bathrooms were in poor condition, which is usually a major indicator for me when judging cleanliness. Urine on the floor near the urinals, non-working faucets, and broken soap dispensers made for an unsanitary experience. It’s hard to imagine how staff can maintain proper hygiene, especially in a place that serves food. All the windows at the entrances were very dirty and most of them were all scratched. Looked awful to look outside.
The deeper you go into the casino, the worse the atmosphere gets—very smoky, dark, and with stagnant, hot air throughout. The overall vibe is depressing. The slot machines seemed extremely tight, and I didn’t see anyone win big or receive a W2 during my visit. Even the table dealers appeared disengaged and uninterested.
The aquarium was okay, but there was no real seating area to relax and enjoy it. The attached Bass Pro Shops was uncomfortably hot—especially on the second floor, where it felt like 110 degrees. It seems like air conditioning isn’t a priority there either. An employee at the entrance mentioned that the building owner, Silverton, is not fixing the AC unit. Very sad that employees are allowed to work in that environment.
Overall, I wouldn’t return. South Point, Durango, or Green Valley Ranch offer a much better atmosphere...
Read moreToday is Mother's day and we all decided to go to the Silverton to eat at Twin Creek's steak house. My daughter went and spoke to the host and informed her that it would be a party of 9 requiring 2 high chairs for one toddler and one infant. She was told one hour wait. So majority of the adults went to gamble as a couple of us took the kids to the aquarium to see the fishes. More then an hour goes by and we still haven't been called to inform us of a table so my son in law returns to the hostess and was told another hour. Right there is when I should have known something was wrong but we gambled more and returned back to Twin Creek's steak house and I truly believe they gave us a table because of my daughter's face expression of exhaustion with the kids. Upon us sitting down (several not yet seated from our party of 9) the manager Michael approaches our table and very rudely told us he had complaints of my grandson who is 6 months old making too much noise. Grant you we were not all seated yet. Myself and my daughter were in shock because the table next to us who were all adults were making much more noise than my 6 month old grandson. Once everyone was seated we shared with the rest of our party what was told to us by your restaurant manager Michael this is when we ALL decided there was no way we were going to stay. Once we were walking out I did try to speak to your restaurant manager Michael and he did not attempt to apologize even when I explained to him how we were not all seated when he approached our table to tell us our 6 month old was being too loud when in fact that would be impossible. I have never experienced a place of business being so discriminatory towards my family and it was extremely hurtful and Rude. Myself or family will not be returning to your place of business because of your mistreatment of your manager Michael at the Twin Creek's steak house. I do plan on writing a letter to corporate of this as well as I feel Michael's behavior at your restaurant Twin Creek's steak house is and was...
