I recently dined at Beit Omar, expecting a solid Egyptian meal, but unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst food experiences Iâve had. While the service was passable, the food was absolutely terrible, making it a place I wouldnât return to.
Food â A Complete Disaster
The food was where Beit Omar truly failed. ⢠The koshari was a messâdried-out pasta, undercooked lentils, and a bland sauce that tasted like watered-down tomato paste. ⢠The molokhia was thin, almost soupy, and completely too garlicky of a punch. ⢠The grilled kofta had an awful textureâburnt on the outside, dry, quality of meat is questionable, making it borderline unsafe to consume. ⢠Even a simple dish like feteer was disappointingâit was chewy, greasy, and felt reheated rather than freshly made.
Nothing had the rich, deep flavours that Egyptian cuisine is known for. Instead, everything tasted either bland, stale, or poorly prepared.
Service â Just About Acceptable
The service at Beit Omar was mediocre at best. ⢠The waiters were polite, but they lacked energy and attentiveness. ⢠It took a bit too long for the food to arrive, but at least we got our orders right. ⢠They didnât check on us after serving, and getting their attention for extras (like bread or water) felt like a hassle.
While it wasnât the worst service Iâve had, it certainly didnât make up for what followed.
Final Verdict â Avoid It
With mediocre service and downright terrible food, Beit Omar is not worth your time or money. If youâre craving authentic Egyptian flavours, youâd be far better off at a street vendor or even making it at home. 1.5/5 starsâand thatâs only because the waiters werenât...
Read moreI just had dinner at Beit Omar with my friends. We tried a variety of dishes including the Harrira Soup, Vine Leaves Hummus, Eggplant Mutabal, Classic Tabbouleh Salad, Kibbeah Trablsiaha, Spicy Potato, Arais, and Peperoni Flat Bread. Let me tell you, every single dish was bursting with flavor! The Harrira Soup was warm and comforting, the Vine Leaves Hummus was creamy and tangy, and the Eggplant Mutabal was so smoky and delicious. The Classic Tabbouleh Salad was fresh and vibrant, and the Kibbeah Trablsiaha had a perfect balance of spices. The Spicy Potato had just the right amount of kick, and the Arais were perfectly grilled and flavorful. And let's not forget the Peperoni Flat Bread, it was crispy and topped with tasty pepperoni. Overall, I highly recommend Beit Omar for its incredible variety of mouthwatering dishes. You won't be...
Read moreAs much as the food is delicious and the service of the non Arab staff is more than great, it is very disappointing to see that all the females of the reception are gathering around in groups and talking for hours next to us( since we were sitting near the reception area) without paying attention to the customers. As we were sitting on the table, my dad has called her more than 5 times for her to realize that a customer needs assistance for the sake of ordering. It is very unprofessional to have such staff whose main concern is being well dressed and talking all time. Such a behavior would drive one away from visiting the restaurant again.
Thank to Mr.Tariq (the branch manager) who approached our table minutes after I have posted the previous review to solve the problem and ensure that we have well-spent time in a...
