Let me say that my long kept expectations of 21 day profrssionally dry aged black angus stake were ruined on the day I visited the restaurant. We ordered a set menu with one salad, side dish and a choice of steak. For the steak we went with 500g black angus 21 day dry aged. I inspected the steak before it was cooked. I asked for medium to well done, but closer to well done. Firstly, the steak I cook at home takes 10 min max to be ready, here we waited for like 20 min. Then, they brought steak warm and side dish also warm. I had to return it and ask to serve it hot. For other customers they were bring steaks dazzling hot. I also had to retun side dish, it was warm and not hot. Then when steak return, it just did not taste as good as I expected. Yes, I was eating meet with a bit unusual taste. But there is nothing special about it that would make me pay 240 riyal for this one. The only good thing is that my friend treated me and I didn't have to pay. Having shared the steak, I felt so full that it was unpleasant. The issue is that restaurant gave free bread and butter and by the time they bring steak, I already finished all bread and overate. Overall, I am not going to this place eber again. Yes, dry aged beef looks very appealing in the fridge. but definitely it is not worth its money and hype. I re confirmed there is nothing better that Kintan Japanese BBQ, where for 59 riyal you get 5 good piece of Wagyu slices and you cook it for your liking and put in your mouth juice and hot and tasty meat with garlik rice. Nothing better that this. The only good thing about this restaurant is an indian senior waiter who was very patient and polite and showed me 2 versions of steaks, explaijed everything, aksed me how to cook, etc. Every expensive restaurant should have one professional and knowledgable staff like him. Arab supervisors from levant countries usually are patient and polite only with Saudi and for expats they usually not as patient. Overall, very overpriced and not...
Read moreWe went to Porterhouse to celebrate a special occasion and inspired by the glowing online reviews. As starters we opted for the Porterhouse spinach and apple salad and for the mains we ordered the Short Rib, the Wagyu Ribeye, Garlic Roasted Baby Potatoes as sides and also a regular portion of Mac and Cheese for the kiddo as there’s no kid-friendly menu available.
The service left much to be desired. For example, the complimentary butter, which was lit like a candle, wasn’t explained by the waiter. He simply placed it on the table alongside the bread, leaving us unsure if it was meant to be butter or just a decorative candle. The Wagyu Ribeye was beautifully cooked to the desired doneness and melts in the mouth, as any wagyu steak. It would be great if it came with some complimentary Dijon mustard or sauces, this we had to order extra. On the other hand, the Short Ribs were disappointingly dry, relying heavily on its sauce for flavor Honestly speaking, we've had far better ribs elsewhere in Riyadh.
The Garlic Roasted Baby Potatoes were burnt. We didn't notice it at first as the dim ambiance was a pretty bit too dark, but once we tasted the bitter flavor, flipping the rest revealed charred, blackened sides. We didn't bother to send it back. The standout dish of the evening was the spinach and apple salad – a delightful combination of ingredients that offered a variety of textures.
Overall, the experience fell short. The service was subpar, the food quality was inconsistent, and the meal didn’t justify the price. We also had to endure an extended wait for the bill, which added to the...

Industrial meets cabin in the woods themed steak house, with eerie silence—no music played until 9pm, so we endured a relatively silent restaurant for 2 hours. Overall a great value—the 287 SAR 3-course set menu netted us a starter, a 500g meat main, a side, and a dessert (we added a bottle of sparkling water, bumping the price to 303.5 SAR each).
Meat/Price: Australian Black angus bone-in ribeye dry aged 30 days, 287 SAR for 500g and the rest of the set menu—that’s one hell of a steal. But there was something wrong with my ribeye—it identified as prime rib, and looked closer to Prime Rib, even though it was born a ribeye. Seriously, my ribeye was exceptionally lean—only minimal marbling, so it was missing that typical ribeye flavor profile. It also lacked any semblance of juicy succulence—I could have hung my ribeye from my fork above the plate and not a drop of meat juice would have dropped from it—and the steak was served rather cool, though it was cooked perfectly medium rare throughout, from edge to edge. It also lacked seasoning—it clearly wasn’t seasoned prior to cooking.
Misc: Cloth napkins! 👍🏻 Come on, Thermo, you can do it! Don’t waste your time with the Ceviche, or the French onion Mac and cheese. The ceviche was a watery red, and the French onion Mac n cheese was simply overpowered by the taste of French onion. Slow and inattentive service staff. Free bread at the start (thanks!), and the lit candle butter was...
