Overall, a rather disappointing experience. Five from our table made selections from the large menu offerings, only to be told they didn't have it. For a Friday night, management doesn't seem to be managing their stock very well. Based on our entire table, the food was hit and miss; some relatively happy others not.
Biggest disappointment is that we ate at Chez Loutcha's in Mindelo, Cap Verde, the original restaurant, and that was a much better dining out experience, including some good music. Just sad the Dakar version can't come close to matching it. In addition, it started to rain and a few got a bit wet from the leaking roof.
Tried it once but not good...

We ordered the maffe with chicken, thiebou dien, and thiebou poulet. Everything was very very good with excellent flavor and seasoning. So far this is the best rice I've tried from thiebou dien. The fish was phenomenal and so well seasoned. Really big piece. Maffe was a nice flavor. Restaurant had a really awesome vibe. The music was like a spa and then at some point it became more festive. People were very nice. This is definitely a place to visit to enjoy the...

The ambience is very cute though. It's not upscale or lux but it's lively and cheerful. Gave a tip to the old man there that sings and plays violin. Giving 4 stars bc the price and because the basil/mint on my salad was obviously not washed- it was dry and had dirt and sand on it. I enjoyed it but the food was nothing special so I probably would...
