the area around place de l'Independance is full of hustlers and thieves, many of them will try to take you somewhere, be careful to follow them because two of them (I imagine they are made-up names but I write them anyway: one called Samba, who speaks Italian and Spanish, and one called Paco, whose photo I put here to recognize him) approached me pretending to be friendly and started walking beside me proposing to be my guide, taking me to the "Viking Pub" not far away, and there they want to sell me drugs that I refused. In particular the second one: "Paco" then proposed to me to see other bars and, following me he sent me to enter an alley where ugly mugs allegedly wanted to sell me drugs, to my refusal he continued to follow me talking while one of the mugs from the previous alley snatched my bag fleeing, fortunately I managed to chase him and corner him making him give it back to me. The toilets are clean and usable. There is an outdoor area that is close to the road and they provide a bar maid to ensure that your beer is always full.
