My Take on Italian Cuisine with a Serbian Twist
My recent dining experience at an Italian restaurant presented an interesting fusion of traditional Italian flavors and Serbian influences. While the dishes were undeniably tasty, they veered away from the expected, offering a unique culinary adventure.
The pizza, for instance, bore a striking resemblance to a Serbian "gibanica" pie, with its generous layer of cheese and a crust reminiscent of "grizini" breadsticks. The sprinkling of sesame seeds and oregano added a touch of Mediterranean flair, while the overall flavor profile remained distinctly Serbian.
A salad featuring cheese, tomatoes, and lettuce, while simple and fresh, lacked a distinctive dressing or element that would set it apart. Its very straightforward composition if this salad.
The pasta dish, advertised as containing four types of mushrooms, revealed only two upon closer inspection. Despite this discrepancy, the flavors were not very balanced and enjoyable.
On a brighter note, my child devoured an entire pizza with unbridled enthusiasm, a testament to its crowd-pleasing appeal. The food, while not refined or exquisite, served its purpose of satisfying hunger and providing a comforting dining experience.
The ambiance of the restaurant was undeniably pleasant, with warm lighting and inviting décor. The service, provided by attentive and multilingual staff, was impeccable. Their fluent English communication enhanced the overall dining experience.

Read moreThey have a website, which is both in Serbian and English. One can make online orders, they even offer free delivery. We ordered two Pizzas ( 1 Serbiana and 1 El Toro) after placing the order a messages popped up on the screen stating the following:
(THANK YOU YOUR MESSAGE IS SUCCESSFULLY RECEIVED. SOMEONE FROM OUR EMPLOYEES WILL CONTACT YOU SOON)
We then tried calling the restaurant just to make sure our order went through, for a mere confirmation. The staff on the delivery line were completely rude. When we asked if they speak English, they simply hung up on us/ ended the call. They have a website in both Serbian and English but it seems some of the staff don’t speak English, which is normal, but it’s rude to just hang up on customers… They dropped our call repeatedly every time they heard us say “Hello”. This happened several time.
After waiting for the pizza for an hour and a half we tried calling again, this time my husband spoke to someone who actually spoke English. The person told him our pizza just got ready. So we expected delivery within no later than 30minutes.
We waited another HOUR!!! 🫨🫤🤯😖Still no Pizza! We called them again. After being transferred from one person to another about three times, the last person told us they don’t have any online order. She said they don’t have our order.😳
A WHOLE TWO HOURS WASTED WAITING FOR PIZZA WHICH NEVER CAME!
Because it was hardly possible to communicate in English, we also sent an SMS in Serbian, with the help of google translate, to the number stated on the website… hoping someone will respond, but that didn’t help either.

Read moreDve recenzije u jednoj. Nedavno sam sa suprugom bio gost restorana i veoma nam se svidela atmosfera. Biftek je taman kako volim a i ostala hrana je dobra. Kelner koji nas je usluživao je bio izrazito profesionalan i ljubazan. Sve u svemu jedna lepa veče.
Razlog za samo dve zvezdice je sinoćna neopisiva neljubaznost "menadžerke". Na žalost nisam bio lično prisutan ali su mi čak 4 osobe iz mog tima opisivale nelagodu koju je priredila osoba koja se nije imenom predstavila već samo kao "menadžerka". Naime najpre su moje kolege rezervisale stolove za 10, zatim za 15 osoba i na kraju za 20, kako smo imali sve više potvrda. U restoranu se na kraju pojavilo 26. To je očito izazavalo šok kod "menadžerke" koja nije tražila rešenje već se glasno žalila kako moje kolege blokiraju kuhinju i bar. Kao neko kod radi u korisničkoj podršci na internacionalnom nivou, i sa gostima iz nekoliko evropski država, ovo je bilo posebno neprijatno kako za goste tako i vidno za zaposlene. Rešenje stiglo od moje zaposlene, koja je prosto zamolila da ne bude "a la cart" već prosto nekoliko pica i piće. To je očito bilo izvodljivo i sama usluga je potom bila na visokom nivou. Veliku sramotu na sinoćnu timsku večeru baca ponašanje jedne osobe, koja bi trebala da bude na vrhuncu zadatka i da ponudi najbolje rešenje za svoje goste i zaposlene, a za šta očito nije u stanju. Nije bilo izvinjenja niti se vratila iz kuhinje u koju je otišla da proveri da li mogu pripremiti pice. Srećom pa su ostali zaposleni drugog kova i znaju obavljati svoj posao na pravi način. Mene bi bila neopisiva sramota, da tako blamiram svoju firmu i svoje zaposlene , na čiji profesionalan i požrtvovan rad bacam senu. Biti rukovodilac je mnogo više od nadobudnosti, umišljenosti i samoživosti.
Dopuna: Odgovor ispod samo pokazuje istinitost mojih tvrdnji. Kakav je to izbor reči i odnos prema mušterijama? "Dovlačimo ljude"? Ne, nije bila subota, već četvrtak i restoran nije bio pun. Da jeste i da nije bilo uslova mogli ste uljudno objasniti i odbiti uslugu, bilo bi razumno! Ovako je po svemu sudeći bilo mesta jer je posle povlačenja očito frustrirane kvazi menadžerke sve bilo dobro. Ipak na novac mnogi nisu gadljivi, već samo na rad.
Histerija i vika nije na mestu, niti u restoranu niti ovde. Dakle, odlični radnici, 3 nivoa iznad Vas. Nadam se da njih za razliku od gostiju umete da cenite. Mi svakako više kod vas nećemo dolaziti niti dalje preporučiti, a Vaši odgovori će nama poslužiti kao dobar primer kako ne postupati sa mušterijama, hvala...
