Unfortunately one of the bartenders/servers made a bad day worse for me.
I received some unfortunate news regarding a family member of mine back home in Houston, Texas. I was in no mood to cook my own food and wanted something that reminded me of home: BBQ.
I come in hoping to order something tasty even if it's just sides. One of the servers, who was quite nice, asked me if he could help make a couple suggestions. I told him "sure thing" because I am mostly vegetarian but will eat chicken.
The server behind the bar, however, decided to dip into his pocket of crayons and elementary school humor and laughed about my diet. Making childish remarks about how my only options were cheese and french fries. That there's not really anything I can eat on the menu and didn't know why I came in at all. While laughing, rolling his eyes, and smirking in my face when I'm visibly not laughing. Making fun of someone's dietary choices, whether it's medical, religious, or whatever is a sense of humor that I find dreadfully outdated.
It doesn't help that I already stand out in this country for being a black person, so I have had my fair share of people making fun of me for things I have no control over.
Anyway, the first server apologized on behalf of the other guy who continued to smirk and laugh behind the bar after "apologizing" between chuckles. It didn't help.
Your guests are not walking jokes. They're coming in for good food and atmosphere. But you guys dropped the ball on this one. Hopefully you guys are more welcoming to other people who don't make eating meat a central part of their...
Read moreIt was my 4th time here, last night, and most disappointing one. Due to Xmas season, Ive booked place for 16 people ten days in advance, then called day prior to the event, and then once more couple of hours before arrival. And I was told that everything is ready, that OFC - they have pork belly (as main dish), and that I should not worry about. And then... Everything went in disastrously way. Our waiter could not bring us drinks in a timely manner (this place can host up to 50 people, and there was just 15 of us). Then, it took them additional 30 minutes to write down our orders... Just after 45 minutes after, the order waiter came to tell us that they dont have enough food to serve us all, that we have to change our orders, which, OFC we had to do... Again, they were slow with drinks, and again, and again, and again... Food was served as it was done, meaning that we didnt get our orders altogether, but people ate as food was coming to the table... At last, we got food after 2 hours of ordering time. Not to mention that guests who came after were served promptly. As said, it was one of my FAV places in Belgrade, but after this awful experience I will make that I will never again come...
Read moreI used to come to the former location, and only visited the current location twice, and yesterday I had the same poor food experience as the first time: after ordering a lot of different meats (it’s a bbq place - meat is their expertise - they do nothing but cook meats all day - everyday) However, just like my previous visit, after waiting 30 mins to have our meat platter served - the food was, if not cold then at least lukewarm. We told our waitress (she was pleasant and in good spirits) and we were surprised that her only answer was “I’m sorry”. After a while of chewing on more cold meat, my brother decided that paying that much money for cold meat is unacceptable, so he went to the waitress, and THEN they agreed to cook it some more (would be nice if they suggested this themselves after we told them the FIRST time). So yeah, we would come back for the service, but we are not coming back a THIRD time to be disappointed,...
