Insolita — Restaurant in City of Belgrade

I really wanted to like this place judged by what I've heard about it but things didn't work well for me.

When we came to Insolita for Sunday lunch there was loud live music - a guy with accordion was singing. He wasn't really bad but I don't want music during my Sunday lunch. I want to talk with my company. We were at the furthest table from music and still it was hard to communicate.

Then, food. Parmigiana was the best part of the lunch, nice but nothing special. It looked amazing and it tasted fine but no wow effect at all. Focaccia was good. Main courses were below average. My wife had tasteless chicken with mushrooms and scamorza with no scamorza. I had slowly cooked pork neck. There were two pieces of meat, one was very tender, the way slow cooked pork neck should be but the other one was a piece of very dry pork, not a neck at all, obviously added later because they were lacking the meat for the meal. Sauce didn't have any particular flavor.

All in all, place looks beautiful, but loud music is not what I expect for lunch. Food is beautifully served but quality and taste don't match the looks. In my opinion restaurant doesn't even resemble...

Too bad there are not 10 stars available; this place will be hard to rate lower than 10… delicious food, all courses, pizza with not much salt in the dough so you can distinguish tastes of all ingrediance salad quite enough in size so you dont overload yourself before main course, soup perfectly cooked with fresh and home made noodles, desert is just amazing on its own… waiter will bring you a plate with all type of cakes available for that day so next time you are here, you might enjoy some other treats… and of course a double expresso for meal end…. Our big expectations were more than satisfied! In the Dorćol neighbourhood in Belgrade, in the part called Gatstrošor. Nice and very friendly staff, delicious food as well as the atmosphere. The music (a band called @freecatsband) was very nice, with great repertoire, not so loud so you can talk to each other.
