On 04.04.2024 I and my brother visited the restaurant of the famous restaurateur Jamie Oliver in Belgrade. The restaurant outside and inside is insanely beautiful. Lots of seating, lots of plants inside, very spacious hall. We sat on the summer terrace. We ordered from the food "Jamie's Cauli Caesar", "Jamie's Lasagne Fritte", "Jamie's Spaghetti Pomodoro", "Sicilian Prawn Linguine" and from the drinks "Jamie's Mojito", Old Fashioned", "Grape&Elderflower Fizz". First they brought "Jamie's Cauli Caesar" and "Jamie's Lasagne Fritte". The salad was not classic, without chicken. They changed its composition and it turned out, surprisingly, quite original. Serving the lasagna left us in shock, in a good way. It was the first time we saw it served in the form of balls. The lasagna was so soft that we didn't even need a knife. It was also served with melted Parmesan cheese. That's fantastic! Their pasta is handmade, which catches your eye as soon as the waiter serves you your dish. Their branded pasta, which had roasted tomatoes in it, was great! The pasta with king prawns was also amazing. Delicious, juicy, tender shrimp served alongside handmade pasta in tomato sauce is some incredible magic. About cocktails I will say briefly - above all praises. As a dessert we chose the Italian classic - Tiramisu. It was nice, with chocolate crumbs inside.
From the minuses I will single out the following: Tiramisu is not classic, but in the form of a cake. In classic Tiramisu you should feel Amoretto and coffee, the dessert should be more liquid consistency, but there was none of that. Tables are reserved for a certain period of time, 2 hours to be exact. We found out about it when a beautiful girl, hostess, came up to us and told us that people had already arrived for whom they had reserved the table we were sitting at. I note that the girl was polite, explained everything decently, culturally and calmly and asked us to move. The staff in the restaurant is wonderful, thanks to the management for such a selection, but this situation was not very pleasant and left its mark...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFood is amazing, very fresh ingredients and great taste š. As for the service, it is very dissapointing and it lowered general impressions, which is a shame for such a nice restaurant. The waitress didn't know to tell ingredients of a dish in the menu and was very blunt when she asked us to leave after one hour and 15 minutes (we understood by ourselves that tables are reserved for 90 minutes, but not thanks to her wording, as she was very unclear). She didn't smile once at us (not one normal polite welcome no teeth smile) and I think it is not normal, at most cafes or even at the street people will smile you back. Also, she came to our table too often to ask if we need anything and interrupted us while we were eating and talking. Also, some other waitress /manager made her hair with hairspray at the ladies room, which was highly unprofessional (there was no toilet paper in the ladies room as well, and it was dirty). On the other hand, one waiter was socializing with some guests so loudly that it was hard to ignore. We thought he came with them and later we realized he was the waiter/manager. He laughed with them so loudly and played with their children, run around and it was very unnecessary and annoying for other guests. He stayed with that one family for one hour constantly. The whole staff seem as if they went through one hour training on how to behave with guests, but didn't get any of it. The enterior is very pleasant with nice shapes and colors, the food is delicious, but the service is a huge fail. The staff really made the whole experience much less fabulous and I think the selection process is very poor (potentially nepotism). It is a shame because I love Jamie's food and I think his sense of hospitality is much more different than the one present at his restaurant. I don't know if I would come here again because of the service. It is very obvious that this is a franchise that has nothing to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe wanted to visit Jamieās Italian for some time and finally did it yesterday.
We were a group of 8. Initially, I made a reservation over the phone but also received an email confirmation. When I wanted to update the reservation (number of people), that was possible only via phone and not through the restaurantās reservation system. On the day of event, I received an email to confirm the reservation.
The service and everyone who attended us was very helpful, friendly but professional and did their best to ensure we have a memorable experience.
Since we were a group of 8, we tried several dishes and drinks.
Margaritas were OK, but we would not recommend them. Aperol Spritz was good (I guess you cannot go wrong with it, right?) and we were glad to see Acqua Pana and San Pellegrino waters. We expected a better offering of Italian wine. The one we chose was not available so we passed on wine.
When it comes to food, Iāll share the review of everything we had (including the feedback of my party): Charcuterie board was delicious and we especially liked the presentation and how we ātraveledā through Italian regions over the board. The aromatic buns were a bit dry and we preferred focaccia. Salmon was good. We liked both the presentation and the taste. Prawn linguine, Bolognese tagliatelle and Jamieās pomodoro spaghetti were delicious. Steak was an absolute favorite. It was perfectly cooked. As a side, only rocket and a few pieces of mushrooms were served. We would appreciate a better side dish, though. Peperoni pizza was nice, especially the Napoli-style dough.
For desserts, we had Amalfi cheesecake, Tiramisu and a chocolate cake. The cheesecake was the winner of the night.
All in all, we had a great time in a nice setting at BW, with some average drinks and tasty food...
