The place/location is simply great! Beautiful site, surrounded with park and remains of an Byzantine walls, huge covered terrase, with many small ones around it, very tasyful and causy enterior. It is a pitty the Zoo is so near, and poor lions need to put up with heavy base and cheerful screaming of guests, but this is another story, I guess...

Staff is polite, dressed-up and posted as true high-class service, but they do not really deliver what they appearance promises. Is it because of a too usual reason (the owner too greedy to pay them enough, and enough of them), or the reason is something else - I'd rather not break my head over. For me, the cold fact is that drink is always late or forgotten, often you need to chase a waiter around, grab his sleave or yell accross the room (as you were not noticed for last 15 minutes). Food is far, far from what you may expect for that price (almost double of average in Belgrade - and Belgrade is already almost double of per-guest price for a few-hundred-people party). Swedish table looked quite rich, with simply great details, like spicy chicken meat pasta, of sea food salad. Still, some basics were done completely wrong, or the ingredients weren't of a best quality. I surely cannot enjoy supermarket sausage, cevapi hard and chevy, roasted pork choped in palm-size pieces, coming from at least 50kg pig.

Beer selection is zero (you can get a domestic non-beer, or "imported" famous brand, that became truly domestic one, considering the dirty technology they use to make it). Not a single good choice, for guys that would pay double and drink half as much, if needed - just to truly enjoy a glass of beer.

Finally, don't get too happy, when you check their website and you find that they have 106 parking spots (in the very center!). If there is a party going on, you could wait for an hour to drive in, IF they do not welcome you with PARKING FULL sign. Instead, I went to a public garage, and had a niiice 20 minutes stroll...

My wife and I had the unfortunate experience of planning to celebrate our wedding day with a lunch at Kalemegdanska Terasa, and it turned out to be a complete disaster. We visited the restaurant twice, spoke with two different managers, and meticulously went over all the details for our special day, including securing a specific table.

However, just three days before our wedding, we received a call from the restaurant informing us that they had received an inquiry for a large party of 200 people and that we would have to vacate our table by 8 p.m., despite our reservation being for 3 p.m. This sudden change of plans was not only shocking but also incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional.

What infuriated us the most was the lack of assistance and empathy from the restaurant staff. Instead of offering solutions or trying to accommodate us in any way, they simply brushed off our concerns with a half-hearted apology and a flimsy excuse about another booking. It was abundantly clear that their primary concern was maximizing their profits, even if it meant ruining our special day and causing us unnecessary stress and disappointment.

The sheer greed and incompetence displayed by Kalemegdanska Terasa left a bitter taste in our mouths, and we sincerely hope that they receive the consequences they deserve for their callous disregard for their customers' happiness and well-being. Avoid this establishment at all costs if you value professionalism, empathy, and respect for your special occasions. They deserve nothing less than the negative reputation they've earned.

If it wasn't for the location, this place would've been closed a...

I regret to say that my experience at this restaurant was profoundly disappointing, and it utterly failed to live up to its promising ambiance and prime location.

Language Barrier and Incorrect Service: The server struggled to comprehend the order in English. We specifically requested meatballs with an additional side of grilled vegetables instead of potatoes, as my mother does not eat potatoes. This simple request seemed to create unnecessary confusion.

Unacceptable Delays and Quality Issues: When the food arrived, the meatballs were already lukewarm, and the grilled vegetables were entirely missing. After reminding the server, he apologized and brought the vegetables 20 minutes later, by which time the meatballs were cold. To make matters worse, part of the grilled vegetables were burned, rendering them inedible.

Mediocre Food Quality: My own dish was disappointing, lacking both flavor and freshness—well below the standards of a mediocre establishment, let alone one with such an appealing atmosphere.

In conclusion, this was unequivocally the worst dining experience I’ve had in Serbia. The staff's lack of professionalism and attentiveness starkly contrasts with the restaurant's otherwise inviting ambiance.

Rating: 0/5 The food and service leave much to be desired and fail to justify even a single visit. A truly...

During my visit to Belgrade, I had the pleasure of dining at Kalemegdanska Terasa, a restaurant located in the historic Belgrade Fortress. The views of the city and the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers from the outdoor terrace were simply breathtaking. (Try visitng close to sunset) I was impressed by the quality of the food, particularly the Šopska salad, which was one of the best I've had in town. The roasted red peppers in garlic and vinegar (pečena paprika) and the mini proja (savory corn bread) were also standout dishes. I enjoyed trying the meats prepared under the "sač," a traditional Serbian slow-cooking method that resulted in tender, flavorful meat and potatoes. While the prices were higher than some other places in Belgrade, I found that the quality of the ingredients, the stunning setting, and the attentive service made it a worthwhile experience. Keep in mind that Kalemegdanska Terasa is a well-established restaurant, so it may not be the cheapest option in the city. I had a memorable and relaxing dining experience at Kalemegdanska Terasa and would recommend it to others looking to try traditional Serbian cuisine in a beautiful setting.

ur overall impression was very good. The restaurant is located in an amazing place. The views cannot be better, and to arrive to the restaurant the walking path is incredible being within the fortress very close to one of the towers. We ordered Ćuretina s mlincima (turkey with some pasta), steak a la "chef" (sirloin topped with foie gras, potato crunchys and cranberries sauce), ćorba (veal soup), drink a very good red wine (unfortunately we forgot which one it was). There is a huge selections of wines. We were 5 persons in a very nice and big table. Quality of food is good but is not amazing. Portions are are not that small , you will fill yourself. Price per quality is normal, not outsanding from menu perpesctive, however the place itself and the views gives the place a good target place to visit if you are in Belgrade. Being said on top of what we order 5 dishes, 1 soup, 2 waters, 1 coffee, 1 whisky, 1 wine = 150 euro . (For better reference Consider the wine was 50 euros) Ambient inside is between modern and traditional but is just perfect. The service is also outstanding, there is a very good team working there
