Went to Stories last Friday with my colleagues. The food? Absolutely delicious. But the staff? That’s another story.
Our waiter was nice, no complaints there. But some guy—looked like a manager or supervisor (blond guy with curly hair) - was incredibly rude. The place was packed, and we were just trying to step aside to let some guests leave. For some reason, this guy was visibly annoyed, making irritated gestures at us like we were in his way. No words, no politeness—just straight-up rude behavior.
And then comes the grand finale. The waiter asked if we wanted dessert, mentioning they only had a few left. We hesitated but eventually said no. Next thing we know, he brings us a Napoleon cake with seven spoons. In any decent restaurant, that would mean it’s on the house, right? Not here. They actually put it on the bill! We didn’t notice at the time, but when we checked later, we realized we got charged for something we never even ordered.
So, if you don’t mind being treated like an inconvenience and getting surprise charges on your bill—by all means, visit Stories. Otherwise, small recommendation for the staff and management: go to literally any other Belgrade restaurant run by locals, and you’ll see what real hospitality looks like. I know I...
Read moreWhen we came to the restaurant there was two women in front of us. Inside was the seats in the back open with the sofa and outside was a table for four open for the women’s party. The party I came in was a party of 6 which was perfect for inside. The moment they saw my party and saw children in it the table we were about to be given was given to the other ladies. It was also a very hot and sunny day outside so sitting outside with children would be hard.
Let’s just say, in conclusion when you come tables are open but once they see children they say there’s no space. NOT CHILDREN FRIENDLY!
And don’t even get me started on the owner, he gives people nasty looks and especially when he glanced over at my baby sister he looked annoyed. He even gave an attitude about not having any space. We tried to go there TWICE and both times they declined us. The place next store, Embers was much better with nicer service and food.
The wait time with children is very long. They at first were open and had many tables open and yet told us that the next available table was at 5:00 when there was tables open (it was 3:00 when he told us that).
Let’s just say, dissatisfied, disappointed...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this restaurant was unacceptable. From the moment we walked in, the staff’s attitude was cold and dismissive. What stood out the most was the clear sense of racial profiling — we were treated differently compared to other guests, and it was hard not to notice.
Adding to the disappointment, it became obvious that families with kids are not welcome here. The staff seemed annoyed by our children’s presence, making us feel uncomfortable throughout the visit. Initially, I thought it might just be an off day or even my perception, but after reading other reviews, I realized this is a pattern many others have experienced as well.
This kind of behavior has no place in hospitality. I would strongly advise families and anyone expecting basic courtesy to choose a...
