One of the best hotels in Belgrade, the location cant get any better. Rooms are very neat and fancy and spacious the best part it they are all nonsmoking, bathroom is very spacious and neat.
Mama shelter is at the heart of the city and right above the biggest shopping mall facing the Belgrade fortress.
Their restaurant is really nice but a bit expensive compared to other restaurants, they have a massive spread for the breakfast.
They do have three levels of parking but chargeable.
Bad Experience:
Most of the staffs are friendly and helpful, but unfortunately we got on the call couple of staffs who seemed to have a rough day at work, the first one hung up on me and the second one was not at all helpful in guiding us with the location when I called back. Couple of things the staff forgets are 1) not everyone knows the city well 2) google maps shows not one but three Mama Shelter Belgrade around the same building and its not easy to just drive around so many times. I even stopped at one of the map pointer and told the staffs the 4 shops that I could find and she quickly stopped me to remind me that âShop and go is a chain and there are 100s of them in Serbiaâ
Serbians are very friendly and helpful I found a gentleman on the street who pointed to the big building and said itâs on the 4th floor. When I checked in I found out Mamas shelter is a very busy place, all the staffs are occupied with something or the other every minute and they really do not have the time to be on calls and help people...
Read moreThe worst dining experiences weâve had in Belgrade. It started the moment we arrived â we were seated at a dirty table still covered with empty glasses and leftover food, even though clean tables were clearly available. We refused sitting on that table and moved by ourselves. The atmosphere was also a major letdown: the music was so loud and bass-heavy it literally made our stomachs vibrate definitely not the kind of vibe you expect when going out for dinner. We waited 20 minutes just to place our order, and the staff didnât make it any easier. It felt like our lack of Serbian and foreign accents made them impatient with us, and the service felt slightly aggressive.
We ordered a 1L drink that came in a random bottle with no garnish, no presentation and it clearly wasnât a full liter, as it barely filled two glasses. We were overcharged for that.
The food was also disappointing. The portion of cevapi was half the size of what weâve received anywhere else in Belgrade, poorly cooked, tough, and served with an almost non-existent pita and no sides. Throughout the night, the music kept getting louder, the staff seemed more focused on chatting with the DJ than on serving customers, and when it came time to pay â we were pressured to leave a tip. Totally unprofessional, overpriced, and just not worth it. Would...
Read moreAn amazing place to visit for a plethora of reasons. It is connected to a hotel, but, of course, you needn't book a room in the hotel to visit the restaurant. Located on the top of the RajiÄ shopping centre in the very heart of Belgrade, quite literally in the main pedestrian street, Knez Mihajlova, the interior can only be suitably described as artsy. Colourful, with various paraphernalia, musical instruments and even games, the place will certainly warrant curious inspection. You'll be drawn in and want to talk a sightseeing walk throughout the whole place. And there's even a balcony where you can also sit and eat whilst enjoying the panoramic view of Belgrade (you can see the Belgrade Waterfront, Kalemegdan fortress, New Belgrade and, of course, the Knez Mihajlova street below). So, the atmosphere would be deserving of 5+ mark. Now, the food, well, the food is also truly interesting and quite delicious. The portions are of a fair size and delightful. Oddly, however, the menu seems sort of small compared to other equivalent establishments. Still, not that it's lacking, of course. And the service is incredibly polite and mindful, even playful a bit, so you'll feel truly welcome and cared for. Definitely a place I would...
