I visited Boho Bar last weekend, drawn by the idea that it’s located within the grounds of an iconic medieval fortress. The location is indeed impressive, but unfortunately, everything else was a major disappointment. Right behind the bar is part of the city zoo – the enclosures for donkeys and other herbivorous animals. This, to say the least, does not contribute to a pleasant atmosphere, especially for a place advertised as a modern bar. At the entrance, we were greeted by people wearing blue overalls, looking more like workers from heavy industry. In addition, a man approached us, handed us a brochure, and invited us to join some sort of religious community. The whole ā€œwelcomeā€ felt confusing and rather strange. We then had to pass through a metal detector and a tunnel, which is part of the fortress’ structure, before finally reaching the bar. There, we were met by an unfriendly hostess and her colleague, who immediately asked if we had a reservation. When we said we didn’t, they seated us on a wooden bench nailed to a tree, covered with cushions — and this was when the place was almost empty. We sat there for about 10 minutes without anyone paying us any attention or offering service, and eventually decided to leave. Honestly, we left with a very bad impression. I wouldn’t go back there under any circumstances and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, especially if you don’t have a reservation. The location has great potential, but the service and overall organization were well below expectations. āø» If you want, I can also make you a slightly more casual, conversational version so it sounds more like a natural Google Maps review and could potentially score higher engagement.

Slowest service ever in Belgrade. Sunday summer afternoon, not busy at all, over 30mins for the first drink to arrive, seriously?? Lots of the approx 10-15 customers looking around with the same problem. Plenty of other bars in BG to choose from. When the 2nd drink order also got to 30mins wait, we paid at the bar and left thirsty. Went next door which promptly took and served the order. Drinks were ok. Scene is ok. Tunes great. But Boho is more like super slow-go. It used to be great a few years ago.

Very slow service. We were not served for at least 20 minutes until we started to wave to waiters. We had a drink and ordered one more, but instead of bringing it the waiter asked how we want to pay. We repeated that we want one more drink, but a few minutes later the waiter came with a bill. He also included a tip which was nowhere in the bill and didn't ask if we even want to give him a tip. It's a pity that such a nice place has such a horrible service.

Great place - horrible horrible hospitality.

We visited Boho bar during a very short trip to Belgrade. We went and asked the staff if we can book a spot in the middle where the pillows are and they said yes and noted down a name and number of people (they told us that if we want a table we need to get a premium bottle, the most common thing to do to tourists - ridiculous but I will come back to this, there is a reason why I mention it). We arrive there on time and say to the person in the entrance that we have a reservation. They don’t even ask about the name and here is the quick dialogue that followed: Them: you can sit either on this table (next to the entrance, and also I thought we needed a premium bottle for a table šŸ˜‚) or upstairs. Me: we booked something in the middle downstairs. Them: yes but we have no space in the middle Me: but we had a reservation?! Them: yes but I’m telling you that there is only this table or upstairs. Me: ok we will go upstairs, but if there is space downstairs later, can you let us know so that we come down? Them: this is highly unlikely, because it’s a Sunday and the weather is good. Well, 1.5 hours later, the biggest storm in the history of mankind broke out šŸ˜‚Fortunately, we were gone by that time, but isn’t this the definition of the word ā€œkarmaā€?

Bottom line, what is the purpose of a reservation if they don’t take it into consideration? Secondly, why is the staff so rude and aggressive? You work in such an amazing place, just be kind, we come to have a good time and fun. The cocktails was…well…2/5 didn’t drink theirs and the table next to us literally drank 1/4 cocktails. The only nice thing apart from the place as such, was probably the waiter who was going up and down like crazy!

Train your staff please, you literally have the prettiest bar in the city in a very touristy area,...

Our experience at Boho Bar was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment we walked in, the staff was rude and dismissive. But that was nothing compared to what happened after we paid the bill. As soon as the payment was settled, we were viciously attacked by the security team without any provocation. They didn't care at all if anyone got injured—one of our friends was kicked in the head multiple times while lying on the ground. It was a completely wild and unprovoked assault. They clearly waited for us to pay before turning violent, and it was as if they had planned it all along.

To make matters worse, it seems that they particularly target non-residents. If you’re not a local, I urge you to stay far away from this place. It’s dangerous, unpredictable, and entirely unsafe. Zero stars, and absolutely no recommendation at all. Avoid this place...
