Decent halal Chinese food (read: no pork, only veggies, beef & chicken). Authentic, cooked by Chinese nationals (who don’t seem to speak much Serbian or English, but got by communicating with Google translate). Not cheap by Belgrade standards, but not bad prices for pretty big portions (about ~700 dinar per item). I ordered WAY too much food for 1 person (they did try to warn me, heh…), but for Sweet & Sour fried chicken, Ylang (?) style fried rice & beef rice noodles, with a Fanta Orange, it was about 2200 dinar (in January 2022).
The chicken was the highlight. Chunks of white breast meat, fried but not breaded, a bit sweet & spicy with pretty good flavor. Rice noodles were a LARGE portion, though there was very little beef, the flavor was again good. The fried rice was mediocre. Mostly just diced peppers & onions with a little bit of chicken (I think). Not very flavorful.
An okay option if you’re craving Chinese food in the area (it’s near Hotel Amsterdam). Not much ambiance inside (there’s an upstairs dining area, & a more spartan dining room downstairs as well. Staff is fairly polite & service is fairly quick (by Serbian standards). Though there was some weird argument between some drunk Chinese customers & the restaurant staff, that I thought was going to get physical, so I had the rest of my food wrapped up to go & took it with me, heh. I’ll likely try some other options for Chinese in the area to compare, as there are alternatives. But, again, this place is a decent option, if...
Read moreAuthentic northwest China food and famous for their hand pull noodle. I ordered Kungpao chicken, steamed dumplings, and cumin lamb skewers. They’re all delicious. The lamb is so tender and tasty, the dumplings are wonderful especially if you eat it with chilli oil; it has a good kick of Sichuan pepper in it. Opt out the chilli oil if you don’t like spicy. Kungpao chicken is good too, full of veggies & good amount of chicken. Also, they served hot tea for free.
The workers are nice as well. I read few people commented they don’t speak Serbian or English & found it hard to order. What I did was pointed the picture and use hand gesture to order. And always use simple sentence. Make it easy for both sides. Price wise is affordable and you can pay by card.
I’d love to come next time for their noodle. It’s hand pulled, freshly made and you can watch while they making it. Satisfying. If you by any chance craving for Asian food, this is a perfect place for you. Or if you just eat only halal food then this is the place.
I highly recommend...
Read moreWe came to Belgrade for the sole purpose of coming to this restaurant. We saw the good reviews and the menu , and we were so excited. However , we were not satisfied. The service was good , nothing much to say there. But the food. Oh my god the food. It was....disgraceful. We ordered beef noodles , sweet and sour chicken and bao buns. The noodles literally tasted and smelled like shampoo. There was barely any taste/seasoning , and the taste that was there , was awful. Puke inducing. The sweet and sour chicken, at first, was amazing. However, it is too sweet, and after just a few bites it becomes vomit inducing. There was no soy sauce or chilli available (there was chilli but it was tasteless and not hot). The buns were, just ok. The only thing with an ok price, the taste was still bland and underwhelming. and shampoo. Overall, expectations were high, but not full filled, at all. Maybe if it was cheaper it would make sense, but it ain't so cheap, so like, what the...
