It will be about coffe bar in Hotel Majestic- I always comeback to Belgrade’s Majestic. A moment of coffee meditation in the finest style. The building is modernist—part hotel, part waiter school. The mature waiters, graduates of the school, always know what you need before your brain even begins to process a thought. The domaća kava, poured by the waiter straight from a džezva, comes with lots of grounds that could be used for fortune-telling. Nearby, there’s a glowing, pulsing rahat lokum, someone’s eating Schwarzwald pancakes, a lady is sipping black tea with an ice cream sundae, another is enjoying chestnut cream, and a gentleman, roughly 250 years old, is smoking cigarettes with his quince rakija. I’m ordering tufahija—the very essence of our exotic Eastern-European spirit… After that, you can safely drift off into thought. The waiters accept this state that looks like stupor… At the end of this “screening,” they bring a refreshing glass of Knjaz Miloš water—as if you were drinking straight from a mountain stream. You’re ready for the rest of the day—and already planning how to return to Caffe Majestic again before the day is over…

Im not a particulary picky person and when you travel a lot one tends to experience the whole rainbow buuuut..let me describe this as a short lived adventure into seemingly lovely rooms. The hotel itself is a 3D version of stairmaster 5000 witl barely functioning elevators. Rooms offer a nice acoustic insight in what is happening in the bathroom at the oposite side of the corridor and while you entertain yourself with finger carvings deep into dust whilst sitting on the ceramic throne, you feel reassured that you are not alone in the room since there is a squirrel shaped mold waitching over the towels. Breakfast has its up sides (nice spicy sausages) yet it feels a bit upsetting when you start to suspect the squirrel to have something to do with the bread.. at least sharing some mold. Not a total waste of hotel though.. clean it up, some fresh paint, change the plummings and follow basic sanitary guidelines will make it a nice place to spend a couple of days.

The hotel was in the old center. Location is fine. The receptionist in the morning (a messier) was really friendly and polite. But…..the room? Was clean on the floor but the walls were really really dirty, Even the wall that you could actually touch while sleeping. I asked for changing the room immediately to the afternoon receptionist but they didn’t give me a solution (not even a glance) and I had to stay in this room. The room wasn’t in any way the same like the photos. I was at least happy that it has a small small small window, but when I opened it was an uncovered area really really really dirty!

I am a UK Travel Agent, I also run a registered charity, a dog rescue ( 10 years) and we work in Serbia helping street and public shelter dogs. I've been coming to Serbia for over 10 years, several times a year and have stayed in numerous different hotels, until I found the Majestic 4 years ago.|From my very first stay I fell in love with this hotel, the rooms are very nice and spacious, the hotel is spotlessly clean, it's in the best location, right in the centre. The Hotel has an Art Deco and minimalistic decor, it's vibe is of times gone by, very charming and unique.|The reason I love this Hotel, apart from what I've described above, is the staff, from house keeping, front of house, restaurant and hospitality all the way up to the management team, including the General Manager. Over four years I've seen the respect and friendship amongst the staff, the leadership of heads of department and the warm relationship between them and their teams. Testament to this is they don't have a high turnover of staff, every visit I see the same staff and it contributes to the family feel and warmth of this hotel. I know I'm not the only regular visitor, each visit I see staff greeting people like old friends. I cannot recommend the Majestic highly enough, I never hesitate to recommend it to my own clients. It's laid back, charming, it opitomises Serbian culture. I would also say that Serbia itself has a unique soul that you can't fail to feel, it has a wonderful culture and history, one visit is never enough! Forget the stereotypical views, you will be very surprised by this cosmopolitan...

DISGUSTING - YUCK -SCHEUßLICH - İĞRENÇ

Stay away from this crab trap. Only location but just location. I'm sure you would find much better quality place at the same location even better price. I'm just warning you that don't waste your money and time there.

I stayed room 203 that has no shower holder smashing full of water on the ground after shower. Lots of stain at the toilet. Toilet flush wasn't working properly. Full of hair on the ground. Spiders were skating on the wall.

Room has only view of inner roof space. Opposite side of the room another hall which has lots of bulb lights which was also lighting up your room during the night it was impossible to turn them off.

Staff are most apathetic uninterested group of people in the world. One thing they could do perfectly was to run towards you when you get breakfast saloon to ask your room number not to forget to charge you as if you might have ran out without payment. It was like someone put them together deliberately.

Breakfast was also most disgusting one I've ever had in my whole life. Very poor menu. Weakest coffee in the universe. Its ingredients were like 98% water 1% coffee 1% unidentified substance. Absolutely same ingredients with orange juice. I tried to have tea it was so so but just a few mornings and then all tea bags have suddenly disappeared no one put  a new one. Best thing was this Holly Crap Trap was to leave it one day earlier before I had planned.

JUST A HUGE YUCK. PLEASE SKIP IT.

DEAR MAJESTIC HOTEL. I AM SORRY I HAD TO LEAVE ONE STAR BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ZERO STAR...

Terrible experience. I was refused accommodation until I booked online, even though the hotel claimed to be full. I had confirmed my stay in person the night before, but was told last minute it was missing a night. When I showed them rooms were available online, they still wouldn't help until I booked digitally.

They held my passport for 30 minutes at check-in with no alternative. At checkout, I was forced to wait 15 minutes while a taxi was outside, despite everyone else in my group simply leaving their key in the room. I was then threatened by staff when I pointed out the unfair treatment, including trying to take my bag and saying they’d "deal with me" again in the future. When I refused to pay an extra charge falsely claimed as a tourist tax (which had already been paid online), they threatened to call the police—even though they already had my card on file.

I was the only brown traveler in a group of 17 and the only person subjected to any of these “rules.” The treatment was clearly discriminatory.

Rooms vary wildly. Some are fine. Others are dirty and old, not what you’d expect even from a budget hotel. Avoid this place. There are better and...
