The overall dining experience was unfortunately subpar, especially compared to previous visits. The beehoon, which was once a highlight of the meal, has notably declined in quality, with the wings served alongside it being particularly dry and lacking the flavor we once enjoyed.
The service left much to be desired. There was a palpable sense of being rushed throughout our meal. Dishes were cleared almost immediately after we finished each one, without the usual courtesy of asking if we were ready for them to be taken away. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere, as though the staff were eager to turn the table over as quickly as possible.
This impression was further reinforced when a staff member informed her colleague that our table would be available soon, despite the fact that we had not yet finished our meal. This premature communication made us feel pressured to leave, detracting from what should have been a relaxed dining experience.
Additionally, there were multiple interruptions during our meal, with staff asking a total of four times whether we had ordered the medium beehoon. This repeated questioning not only disrupted our conversation but also reflected a lack of coordination among the staff, further diminishing the overall quality of our visit.
To add to the disappointment, we had ordered three plates of beehoon, but they were not served together. The staggered arrival of the dishes disrupted our dining experience and made it difficult for us to enjoy the meal together as we had intended.
Overall, the combination of declining food quality, poor service, and the disjointed serving of our dishes made for a disappointing experience, which was a stark contrast to the enjoyable visits we've had...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen a while since I visited this branch in IMM, last visit was before covid. The standard has really dropped a lot, the signature white beehoon no longer had the fragrant, vibrant seafood umami taste as before, instead it had a distinct funk and stench to it like rotten seafood. Turns out the culprit was the baby scallops they used, the entire broth used to cook the beehoon had the same stench.
The original white beehoon had prawns, pork and squid, with lots of egg. The version I had just today had only prawn, no squid or pork, very little egg, and rotten baby scallops instead. Complained to the staff who luckily was apologetic, and offered to replace the dish minus the scallops. Unfortunately the replacement plate still had the same foul rotten stench to it, and my family struggled to finish even half before we gave up and decided to just make do with the rest of the dishes we had, which thankfully still tasted all right.
During payment, I commented again to the staff at the cashier counter and she said yes, they made a change to their stock, and they replaced the squid with scallop instead.
I'm not sure how this version of their signature white beehoon passed any sort of QC, I used to frequent the original restaurant at sembawang and I would like to know how the original chef thought of this new version served at IMM.
For me, if this is how their signature white beehoon is going to taste like from now on, then it is only a matter of time before they go out of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe beehoon is quite tasty. The seafood is quite fresh. The prawns are not mushy. The price $12++ for M size beehoon isnāt very cheap but for the taste and quality, itās ok. M size can feed like 3 adults with other dishes. The mala crayfish Xmas beehoon was really good. The ālittle lobstersā were fresh and meat was not gooey. The Mala sauce was nice, spicy but not overbearing. The turkey though was very salty. Maybe they can choose a turkey which isnāt so salty. For $15++ it was nice. Wish they had a bigger size or put it in their usual menu. The 3 egg veggie was a bit disappointing though. Itās unlike some other restaurants like paradise or crystal jade. Theirs are more flavorful but White restaurantā was quite bland and the 3 eggs are few, not meshed well with the broth or sauce. For $15 itās a bit steep for the quality. The staff are friendly. Both the receptionist and waitresses. They joked with us to make us welcome. Also, they checked with us howās the food. They also managed our expectations by telling us the probability of long Q and waiting time for food served. On the whole a good experience. For $50+ 3 adults were sufficiently filled satisfactorily. Iāll return again for the Mala little...
