Went to Le Miam on a 1 day trip to Bratislava from Vienna. Honestly, decided to have breakfast there because we loved the name. Boy, were we in for a magical surprise. The entrance doesn't give away on the magic that happens inside. I may not know too much on French pastry, but the girls in there sure do the term justice. It's an open setting, so you can always see the chef behind the counter preparing delicious treats. We went there pretty early in the morning, the viennoiserie case was full and they were working on the pastry case to get it all prepared. I cannot even tell you how perfect all of it was. From the lady who served us, which was incredibly sweet and accommodating, to the interior which was unassumingly chic and lovely. Now, on to the actual products, The pastry is flaky and you can feel the butter throughout. The cream filling is perfectly balanced in terms of sweetness and does not overpower in any way. The coffee is the ideal companion to this. The flavour of the citrus marzipan croissant was also something unexpected (to me), but delicious. We couldn't help ourselves and had a cake as well. Again, perfect taste and balance between the layers (very nicely defined, as you can see in the pic) and the aroma was coming through in each bite. The prices are perhaps perceived as higher, but let me state that this is absolutely justified by the quality of craft. I would go back to Bratislava just for this place, again and again (and I am not taking away from anything else the city has to offer), but Le Miam is definitely an experience I would...
Read moreThe taste is good in Slovakia.
But the service is the worst.
I had reserved a birthday cake and when I went to pick it up, they cancelled it without my permission, saying that they only make cakes for six people.
I've had it made for four people before, what was that?
They told me they sent me a cancellation SMS, but I never received any such thing.
When I made the reservation they didn't ask for my phone number, so I asked, "Don't you need my phone number to make a reservation?" I asked and they said "No, I don't need it.
I didn't give them my phone number, so there's no way they can reach me.
When I told him to show me the transmission screen, I found out that the person had mistakenly sent the wrong contact information to the wrong person.
Since you went directly to the restaurant to make the reservation in the first place, why didn't you tell us at that time that you could only cook for 6 people?
From the cake baker's point of view, it's one of the cakes they make every day, but from our point of view, it's a once-a-year anniversary.
You should...
Read moreThe croissant is good and the cakes/tartes too there are no doubt of the quality... But the prices are extremely expensive and they are charging more than in France which doesn't make sense in Slovakia and is not even in the historical centre. I spent 26 euros in 4 items and to be honest I felt robbed even though it was delicious Also the fact that at 12.00 they are almost sold out of the best products doesn't help much. Good to go once per month if you feel like spending 6 euros for 1 tarte but definitely not your daily coffee shop. Guys my advice is lower your prices and make the top sellers available all day. If there is demand why are you...
