Pub u Kohúta — Restaurant in Košice

The food is good. The atmosphere is also very nice. The biggest problem is the service. After sitting down in the restaurant and the waitress bringing you the menu, she comes back in about three minutes asking whether you've chosen. Then she takes the glass from the table a few seconds after you've finished your drink, sometimes even if it is not fully empty. You get asked at least every 20 minutes if you want something else. When she brings you the check she waits awkwardly next to the table until you gather the money to pay. She does not even have the decency to leave for 5 minutes until you collect your paper bills. In the end, while still sitting at the table, she comes and starts cleaning around as if preparing for the next customers. This can clearly be done after you've left, but she nevertheless had to rush and do it in front of you. As a result, the whole night the customer feels pressured to order and eat and drink quickly like in a fast food. Wouldn't recommend this...

Truly terrible. This was some of the worst food I ever ate at a restaurant in my life, even if it may look nice from a glance. I felt sick after eating here. The ribs were dry as a bone and had no flavor. The risotto was disgusting, very weird flavor combination, with completely the wrong texture. The bread for the beef Tatar were soaked in oil, which made me feel sick. The duck liver in the potato pancake had a weird taste. They didn’t feel fresh. They were also cooked in a bad way. They prices are also way too high. Even the water was expensive. The only decent thing is the atmosphere and the friendliness of the waiters, but they can’t compensate bad management and cooks. There seemed to be also locals coming here, so I don’t think it’s a tourist trap. Why they come here is beyond me though. Maybe the cook changed at some point and it was better...

I can see that there are a lot of good reviews, which is one of the main reasons why we ended up here...however, it really matters with what you compare this restaurant, or where have you eaten so far... The food was below average, uncooked chicken (asked them to put it again in the oven), ordered 2 glasses of wine (we were taxed for 4), ordered 2 beers (came only 1, which was better because it tasted pretty bad), tips was already included in the bill. Prices are too big for what they offer, the service is ok, you can see that they have good intentions, but unfortunately...
