Returning from London and eager to reunite with my dear friends and esteemed fellow hairdressers, I sought not only delightful company but also a memorable luncheon experience. Le Bistro Ljubljana presented itself as a fine establishment, and I must commend Petra and Nuša for their exceptional hospitality and unwavering professionalism. Their gracious demeanor was, without doubt, a highlight of the afternoon.

The cuisine, while well-executed and attractively presented, was in keeping with what one might reasonably expect within its category. It was enjoyable, though not particularly revelatory. For those seeking a pleasant meal in an inviting setting, it serves its purpose adequately. However, when considering the overall experience, one cannot help but reflect upon the delicate interplay between service, ambiance, and the true enjoyment of a meal.

Here, regrettably, the pacing of the service was cause for discomfort. Upon arrival… admittedly, a mere four minutes past the reservation time… I found my plate already served, accompanied by the “amuse-bouche” from the kitchen. While one can appreciate attentiveness, such promptness afforded me no opportunity to settle in, to take a breath, or even to ascend the stairs and return before my dining experience was effectively underway.

Moreover, the sense of urgency persisted throughout the meal. At no point did it feel as though one was afforded the luxury of time…an essential ingredient in the art of dining. 🤯‼️

There was barely a moment to engage in meaningful conversation with my companion, whom I had not seen in few years, before the next course was already being presented. Indeed, one can only describe it as being hurried along with such insistence that it verged on the unceremonious. To find oneself still engaged with the first course while a waiter, however apologetically, stands poised to serve the next is an experience quite unfamiliar to me, despite my extensive travels across the globe.

It is evident that the young team at Le Bistro Ljubljana is diligent and eager to provide a commendable experience, yet they appear to be bound by an approach that prioritizes expedience over refinement. A more measured and considerate rhythm… one that allows guests to dictate the natural flow of their meal… would undoubtedly elevate the establishment’s standing and enhance its appeal to those who seek not merely sustenance, but an experience of true indulgence.

It is my sincere hope that this feedback reaches the appropriate quarters and inspires a thoughtful reflection on the balance between efficiency and gracious hospitality. With such promising talent at its helm, Le Bistro Ljubljana has every opportunity to refine its approach and offer an experience that is not only commendable but truly distinguished.

You should definitely give a chance. Weekday breakfast options, over bread snacks, weekend breakfast, desserts...everything we ate was simply amazing...you should definitely try the homemade fig marmalade. It is completely homemade and does not contain additional sugar. It is a wonderful flavor...Also, everyone working there is very polite and helpful, I would especially like to thank Lili for her smiling face and helps. The atmosphere is very spacious and stylish. I want to try the dinner options as soon as possible...Definitely...

Average food inside cozy modern restaurant ... Suffle was very delicious, my octupus kaarage was not my cup of tea, and pasta with truffles and shrimps were average. +- All in all, staff was polite but they had some "internal communication issues" infront of costumers, which is always a red flag 🤷‍♂️ Ambient is pleasant, classic modern style bistro. Once the place filled up it got really loud inside ... +- Prices are ok, but value for money is not on the right level ... BTW, they have rich wine list with some...
