Visited begin of September as couple. Taste was authentic, but were heavily over-oiled. The service was good, although the pricing was slightly above average. We ordered 1x 鱼香肉丝 (pork fillet slices with fish sauce) and 1x 铁板野生鹿脊 (deer fillet fried on a hot stone).
The staff, consisting of Chinese personnel, were nice and quick in taking our orders. Overall, the service was quite good. However, we did experience a bit of a wait, which the waitress had already foreseen and warned us about in advance. (5/5)
The quality of the dishes was hard to tell. Both dishes were well-spiced and met our expectations. However, there was an excessive amount of oil used in the preparation, which overwhelmed the flavors. In the earlier stages, the taste was stronger and better, but as the food soaked in the oil, it started to taste more like fried oil, similar to KFC chicken wings. (2/5) I would like to note that the deer meat had a really good tender consistency. However, the excessive fat and oil detracted from the overall enjoyment of the dish during the dining process. (3/5)
The ambiance of the restaurant was classic and rather simply decorated. We chose to sit outside in the tent, which allowed us to enjoy the fresh air. However, we had to contend with mosquitoes as the tent was located near the park with its plants. (3/5)
I would recommend Beli Labod to people passing by Ljubljana central station who don't have much time for a meal but wish to taste some authentic Chinese food. However, it's important to expect a high amount of fat and oil in the dishes! (5+2+3+4)/4 ...
Read moreFood was as bad as fast food Chinese take outs can be. I dined in, and was told to sit in the tent outside, which was well heated but not very cosy. I ordered 海鲜炒面 (seafood fried noodles) and a plate of broccoli with garlic - both were mediocre. The noodles tasted like something you'd get from any cheap fast food take away place, and ingredients were very basic (if you have crab stick as 'seafood', you know you're in for low quality stuff). Broccoli was badly cut with lots of stem to chew and little garlic to go with it. Fortunately I didn't leave feeling thirsty. The waitress serving me was not very friendly and seemed rather pushy. Toilet was also not very clean. Sadly, I cannot recommend this as a place for good...
Read moreCame as a couple. Ordered two things, I ate it all and my boyfriend got food 20min later when I almost ate it all. Saying almost because I ordered seafood soup I got some egg mixture with some leftover frozen seafood. It tasted like shit and smelled even worse. It also looked something Shrek eats in his swamp. The waitress did not understand only water and she almost gave us sparkling water. If youre in slovenia just learn the basics, good we knew english. The tables were also sticky, just like the prices. My boyfriend also did not like the food, there was little pieces of salad in his non flavourble noodles. Never...
