Learn moreWe dined at Café Caprice, and it was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the stage for a fantastic evening. The food was beyond incredible; every dish was a work of art in flavor and presentation. We started with their signature appetizer, which balanced savory and fresh flavors perfectly. And the main course, were also to die for and kill for—the flavors were rich, the ingredients fresh, and each bite was better than the last. The portions were just about right, and the desserts were simply out of this world. You could tell that every items on the menu was crafted with care and creativity, with an eye for both taste and detail. The real standout, though, was our server, Ash. Not only was she attentive and knowledgeable, but she also took the time to recommend some of the café’s best dishes based on our preferences. It was clear that Ash knew the menu well, even suggesting wine pairings that elevated the entire meal. She shared stories behind certain dishes, making the whole experience feel personal and unique. This level of personalized service really made us feel special and added a delightful touch to the evening. Overall, the combination of outstanding food and exemplary service made this a memorable meal. Thanks to the expertise and warm hospitality of Ash, and everyone in the kitchen who help make our food, we could feel the love and passion of Café Caprice’s dining experience and I’m putting Café Caprice at the top of my list for dining out. I can't wait to return and bring friends along to...
Read moreI would not recommend going to Cafe Caprice to anyone! The hostess was not welcoming or friendly after we greeted her in a pleasant manner and said that we’re meeting our friends who had booked a table. After being seated, we requested the bottle that we had ordered and paid for a few months ago - they apparently take your name down and “keep” the bottle for you should you not finish it. At the time my boyfriend asked the waitress if he shouldn’t also just leave his ID or cell phone number and she said “no”. To our surprise the bottle that we paid for and they were supposed to “keep” for us, was not there. So we wasted money on a basically full bottle of alcohol (after being kicked out at closing time) and weren’t “reimbursed” for it.
This has already left us disappointed and quite annoyed. Furthermore, my friend ordered the Pollo Pasta and was ready to eat until she found a LONG strand of HAIR in her food! Does your chef not wear a hairnet? Later, that same friend had a thick piece of glass in her shot glass.
Generally, at any supposed “high end” establishment, they accommodate their customers for any inconveniences. Such as a free meal after finding a long strand of hair in the first one and deducting that amount paid for the missing bottle of alcohol that they were supposed to keep.
On top of it all, we were basically chased away, even though we had booked the table first and paying a deposit, because they double booked the table.
So, don’t waste your hard-earned money at this pretentious, sly and unsanitary...
Read moreLet us start with the why, why the 5 stars?
You might think its because of the ideallyic setting next to the sweet sandy shores of the camps bay promenade, where the view outside is equal to the view within?
Perhaps it was the curated ambience of authentic music, good vibes and the promise of endless summer sun long into the evening?
It could have been the fresh sushi, bottles of bubbly, glasses of whiskey or the tailored selection of other treats on the menu?
Maybe it was the Sunday brunch that evolved into a Sunday lunch and eventually became a Sunday evening?
For all those reasons, I have 4 stars and nothing more.
But,
1 star goes to an unexpected Sagittarius from Johannesburg that tried to change my mind. In the off chance that there's more than one Sagittarius from joburg working at caprice, this one's name was Tatum :)
It's not easy to change a mind in a day, but Cafe Caprice left an impression.
A shout out to Jessica for the milk and sushi and of course the fairy God mother who kept us honest into the evening.
We will be back.
P.s I can't believe you thought I'd forget...
