This is a great dog-friendly beach. Note that dogs are only allowed before 9am and after 6pm, & it is a poop-scoop beach. It's not great swimming as the rip currents are a bit vicious, but it is a good place to learn to surf as the waves are large enough for that without being too large to overwhelm a beginner. If you just want to build sand castles, people-watch, watch sunsets and hang out with friends, this is a great beach. The waves are far bigger, while the sand is as soft, white and hot as next door. In fact, there always seem to be great waves for surfing.
