Place on the Bay — Hotel in Camps Bay

The staff have been very helpful under the difficult circumstances! We were led to believe that The Place on the Bay is being demolished @ end of January 2023! No care has been taken to upgrade the so called DELUXE apartment we are staying in! TV NOT worth switching on, NO emergency lights for load shedding (also no communication on when there would be loadshedding!) We had to ask for an emergency light @ reception. No hairdryer / iron etc... again we had to ask reception. Under the above circumstances we as guests should have been made aware & charged accordingly when booking our apartment! TOTAL RIP OFF WITH YOUR PRICES, DECEIVING ADVERTISING & FALSEPHOTOS ON YOUR BOOKING SITE! We have enquired to who we can forward our complaints to & have been told ... "no one has a phone number or email to give us!' 😕😡😳 This establishment may have been wonderful in its heyday but to be ripped off with exorbitant prices we believe that we should receive a refund...

A truly exceptional place to stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Prices were amazing considering the time of year we went. It's self-catering apartments and we found everything to be perfect, in fact beyond expectations. The room was a decent size, light and "airy" and clean, The views are breathtaking - literally across the road from Camps Bay Beach. There's safe parking on-site with all manner of amenities within walking distance. Can't recommend Place On The Bay enough! it was truly an amazing experience for us (a couple) We found our self-catering apartment was missing a couple of utensils and an ashtray for outside but a quick call to reception and they brought us everything we needed with a smile. NOT LIKE THE PHOTOS - BUILDING FALLING APART

We had booked as a group of which 3 of us girls stayed in Place on the Bay and 2 of us next door in the dodgy building described bybothers.

From a construction background Place on the Bay building is in serious need of a full rennovation. The maintenance has been so far neglected that I feel the building is border-line unsafe.

We stayed in the penthouse suite which I can say is falling apart. The ballustrades are rotting along with the deck floor, tiles popping off the walls, un-equipped kitchen.

Lift was in shambles, we carted our bags upstairs. Lift opens up on penthouse where we found an old matress and pillows in the lobby - not clean.

This place is location and a clean bed ONLY, I would not recommend for a relaxing homely...
