ad idem café — Restaurant in City Centre

On a meander down Long Street during loadshedding, we felt compelled to go into this inviting, cozy coffee shop.

No power, no problem! Ginger serves piping hot coffee & snacks regardless of Eskom's shenanigans. The old timey modern facade of the shop carries all the way into this tiny space - made to feel spacious with good furniture & decor choices.

There is a good selection of items on the menu. We went for a classic cappuccino and an iced latte. We shared a DELICIOUS cheese toasty - two thick helpings of gooey cheese inbetween perfectly toasted sourdough slices. Definitely a good meal on its own or solid snack if split.

The rattle of coffee making paraphenalia, the hiss of steam, free wifi & a great playlist of tunes make you linger for much longer than you may intend!

Will definitely recommend this gem to others & try to visit again when...
