I genuinely didn't have a great experience here 👎🏽
I can only describe her since I don't know the name. She has blonde/platinum white braids. She's light skinned.
Anyway, when we were in Cape Town last week we thought let's just go to Capello as the girls to explore the place and just chill, I think it was Tuesday the 11th . We were served by her. Now I arrived late but the girls had already ordered wings and chips. I chilled a bit and asked for the menu. I then decided after a couple of minutes I'd like a Mocktail, I gave her the menu specifically pointing the R60 strawberry daiquiri Mocktail with an open page of Mocktails on the menu. Now she brings my mocktail and all is well since I don't drink alcoholic beverages . I drink my mocktail and some guys join us. After some time, I order sparkling water and I chill with the girls but I now wanna leave because it's getting late and I'm a little annoyed. I go ask for my bill and I look at the slip and our bill is approximately R2900. Now I'm asking myself 'how is she combining the bill because I came later anyway, mine should be separate'. Anyway she circle my amount to pay and it's R116. I ask her how much is the sparkling water if my bill is R116 and I ordered a R60 Mocktail. She insists I had the strawberry cocktail instead of a mocktail. I tell her that a mocktail and a cocktail are different even in colour. A mocktail is pink and not translucent as the darker red of a strawberry daiquiri cocktail. I know what I drank. I don't drink alcohol and I would've known I had alcohol had I asked for it. She faught and faught with me, asked the bartender and made him calculate how many strawberry daiquiri Mocktails did he make and if the one that went to our table wasn't the alcoholic one. I know what I drank and I fought tooth and nail because that's scamming people. Anyways I pay R90 because I literally know what I had but now I don't know how much was the sparkling water and at that point I didn't care because I won't pay for something I didn't drink.
Now I go back to the table and I tell the girls, I wanna leave. I chill for a bit and she brings their bill. She starts telling one of our friends that she's doing her a favour and she shouldn't behave like me whom she made her pay R90 yet I had alcohol. I literally wanted to call her out but I decided to leave.
I hate when restaurants do this. Please don't scam customers because you think they are...
Read moreWe celebrated our Valentines there and from walking in I felt unwelcome. The only person who was welcoming was Simi. The Dj was on point and on fire. Walk in customers were given very uncomfortable tables while there was so many empty tables. I was also given a very uncomfortable table and I refused and showed them the one I wanted and I had asked if it was reserved and Yes it was not reserved so I don't understand why they were keeping those nicer comfortable tables rather than choosing to loose customers because of not being satisfied with table and sitting arrangements. I literally saw 2 customers walk out because of not being happy with the table given. We waited for the food for the longest time for it to arrive cold and we ordered 3 different sets of food as we were 3 and only 2 meals arrived and no explanation to that they will be a delay on the 3rd meal. We waited until we started eating it was only when we were finished eating the 3rd meal arrived and when we asked Simi why did the food take so long to come he explained that it's the kitchen that is delaying and his working under pressure attending to other customers complaints. Please train your staff to communicate amongst each other and aswell with customers if there is a delay we were supposed to be told and those two meals shouldn't have been brought if the 3rd was not ready. The food we received was very disappointing the Alfredo was extremely salty and tasteless the half chicken tasted like it was old chicken and had no flavour. I ordered peri peri but there was no taste that was convincing me that is peri peri. Horrible service I would not lie the only thing we enjoyed was the music and the...
Read moreI am totally disgusted by the homophobic service we received at Cappello (Long Street) last night! I bought 2 vouchers of “2 x Large Pizzas” translating to 4 Pizzas in total. Friends and I (including 1 from Durban who is visiting) went to Cappello and ordered drinks, then redeemed the voucher for dinner. There was a guy who constantly pulled faces towards us but we ignored him because we decided whatever he was going through was not our problem but his. When the bill eventually came, I noticed that we were rightfully charged for drinks but wrongfully charged for 2 Pizzas. I explained to our waiter that the Hyperli vouchers I brought are / were for the 4 Pizzas we had. The waiter refused and told me that the vouchers only entitle customers 50% of their food bill. I asked him to call the manager because I could see he was new. The manager (who happens to be the guy who was giving us looks earlier - apparently named 'Collin') went straight to the back without even looking at us. Few moments later, the waiter came back with the correct bill and apologised for his mistake, which I completely understood. The manager did not even have a decency to come and explain that his waiter is new or to apologise – as any manager would have done. Instead, he went back to the table he was sitting in with some people and continued with his life, while we sat there flabbergasted! We went out the store and he still made funny remarks which we saw through the window. Such an unhealthy environment for the LGBTIQA community! I have heard so many homophobic stories about Cappello Long Street, but I experienced it first hand last night! I have never been...
