Repost The previous complaint has been ignored. I would love to receive a reply, not just an apology for the delay. Food lovers customer service is very bad.
Feedback on Payment System, Sandwich Options, and Queue Management 5 NOVEMBER 2024
Dear Food Lovers Market Team,
I am writing to express some concerns regarding my experience at your Green Market Square location in Cape Town yesterday.
Firstly, the electronic card payment system was not functioning, which caused considerable delays at the checkout counters. During the peak lunch hour, the queue became excessively long, yet the manager on duty was not proactive in finding a solution to ease the situation. As a result, I had to leave without completing my purchase due to the extended wait, especially challenging given my limited lunch break.
Additionally, I wanted to mention that it seems mayonnaise is included in all of your sandwiches. It would be highly appreciated if you could consider offering options without mayonnaise, to provide more variety and accommodate different customer preferences. For instance salami and cheese is a great panini but why is there the mayo that spoils the flavor of all the other amazing ingredients?
Thank you for your attention to these matters. I trust that these improvements could enhance the experience for many of your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFood Lovers Market is a bit strange. They are very popular in SA as a more premium version of the mainstream supermarkets but are a long way off Whole Foods Market, or even a larger deli, in places like London or Paris.
Whilst they thrive off the limited competition, their selection of specialist foods, craft drinks, vegan delicacies, Indian foods could be so much better; the salads all open are of questionable quality and the dietary requirement labelling is poor. The bread is a particular unforced error, with long ingredient lists full of weird stuff - indeed this is common with a lot of their pre-prepared food it is as if management thinks their target market does not bother reading the label - I think its a fatal misunderstanding of the psychology of the market they will need to better penetrate should they wish to increase margins and footflow.
I like them, but if they do not raise their game and rest on their laurels I'd be very unsurprised to see an international competitor or domestic startup enter the market and compete them out. It'll happen quicker than they think, as the 'edge' of fresh supply chains providing exciting products are not swiftly established, so once a competitor does it they may find the current brand legitimacy they enjoy gets swiftly eroded and they'll come to be seen as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe frequently use Food Lovers in Cape Town because it is central and there is always a variety of fruit and hot foods to choose from.
The one day I bought salad and some hot food for my colleagues. I was assisted by Yolisa and upon asking for a plastic knife and fork she gave me only one pack.
I mentioned that the salad and hot food is for three people and I kindly requested another two. She became quite fussy about it and said she can only give one. (The other day I was with a different cashier and she gave me another one without questioning me or being fussy about it)
If this is the case that means me and my colleagues have to each buy something just to be allowed a plastic fork and serviette. But I went and bought food on our teams' behalf and that way less people in the row (just to adhere to the COVID-19 situation that we are still facing) and we were eating at your store because it is our break away from the office.
It is just strange how every Food Lovers is different because another branch I support gives you the choice to take as many plastic forks, knives and spoons as well as...
