Oh my word!… Do yourself a favor and ask for SIHLE!… We arrived at five minutes before opening and were welcomed in by happy smiley folks… As they began their first part of the actual business trading day, myself and my best friend from high school that had lost touch, for more than 35 years were now having our first adult beers together and unraveling an incredible journey of each of our high school to adulthood journeys, to now, amazingly both living in Cape Town, and within half an hour of each other…
So obviously the company was good, any beer special is always good, and I highly recommend the Heineken silver beer special they have… As the unraveling happened, we threw in a couple of Jager Meister‘s too… After more than four hours of beers and catching up, and rediscovering, excuse the pun, “old friendships”, we tucked into a burger and chips special too… Time does interesting things, and although we understand why, one of us needed to go to the loo a lot more often than the other… L O L!!
We’re still not sure whether it’s age [most likely], however we certainly made those beers FloW!!!…
Thank you SIHLE once again for being such a great waitress and facilitating two long-lost high school friends catching up… We...
Read moreAfter seeing such high ratings, I was excited to try this place but was deeply disappointed to find that both the service and food fell far short of expectations.
The experience started off poorly with a 30-minute wait just to place our order. Then, we waited another 45 minutes for the food to arrive—only to find the orders completely wrong. My boyfriend had ordered a medium-cooked hamburger but was served a very rare one instead.
I looked for our server to address the issue, but he was nowhere to be found. I eventually had to involve the manager, who stepped in to help. Although they replaced our undercooked meals, the replacements were still undercooked, which was frustrating and unacceptable. Messing up a meal twice left us feeling very let down.
To make matters worse, when we received the bill, they tried to charge us for the wrong meal. The entire experience was chaotic and unprofessional.
As for the food itself, both the hamburgers and fries were bland and poorly prepared. The quality was disappointing, and nothing about the meal stood out as redeeming.
Overall, the service was terrible, the food was mediocre, and the entire experience was a mess. I was extremely disappointed and would never...
Read moreI am on travel in Cape Town and went here on a recommendation. I had a steak special (400g sirloin). At least 250g of what I paid for was bone and fat. This was not a good steak. While it was medium rare as ordered, It was cold on one side, and had a sweet sauce that wasn’t great. The mushroom topping (served on the side) was also not great. My expectations were much higher as I had an absolutely fantastic steak + fries/chips at Kloof Street House a few nights earlier and was surprised at the excellent quality. This may not be a fair comparison as Tiger’s Milk is not as upscale as Kloof Street House. Tiger’s Milk was comfortable and I was seated right away at 7:30pm on a Wednesday. It is a great location and the server (Cindy) was polite and attentive. While I won’t order steak here again, I may try other dishes to see if they are decent. My cab driver highly recommended it, due to location. It is a few blocks from my hotel near City Center / Greenmarket Square. Don’t order the steak if you go. They play a steady stream of pop/top-40 music and ambience is fine. Summary: location is great, steak is not. Try...
