We as a familiy have been going to Cattle Baron Durbanville for many years to enjoy there Sunday night Burger special. Warm reception when we arrived and shown to our table. It was a young male waitor and he did well in taking our Drinks order as well as main course order. The first problem we had bare in mind there were only about 8 tables occupied it took more than 45 minutes for us to receive our 4 chicken burgers. Once we received the burgers and started eating them we found that the grilled chicken breasts of all 4 was still raw. Some parts were done and some not, my sun and daughters were still cold inside and under done. Being it chicken we asked the waitor to please get it cooked fully. One would think that for sutch a populer resturant the Cheff would know that uncooked chicken is not on. After annother length of time my sun received his back but not my daughter, waitor claiming that he misunderstood and put it to waste. Needles to say we asked for n doggie bag so my sun could take his burger home. On reading the menu it was stated that if ordering a burger the coke zero price is R24 instead of the normal R34. On the bill we were charged R34 per coke zero. After pointing this out to the waitor and Manager we were told that it only applies to normal menu and not specials. Nowhere on the menu does this get stated. I had to pay the full bill which i was intending to pay and a 10% tip to the waitor. No even a sorry or nothing was given by waitor and Manager The previous manager who sadly passed away was hands-on and customer focused. This unfortunately cannot be said after what happend. As a loyal Cattle Baron Durbanville customer i will surely not drive all the way from Kuilsriver to have supper and get this service. There are many other resturants in Kuilsriver Brackenfell area that will go the extra mile and make sure the customer...

We loved CB Durbanville, we eat there at least once a month, sometimes twice.

Today, as always the food and service were top notch....Well into our lunch my wife informed me that she forgot our wallets at home. We just came back from a long weekend and in the confusion she took another handbag....I said not to worry and then went in search of the Manager.

Told him about our predicament and asked for his bank details, said he can stand with me, I will load the Restaurant as a recipient and EFT the money. I will have the POP send to his via email as well as his phone. Money will be sent with immediate clearance and will show on the account.

He looked at me, said that it will not work for him and that he will give me the owner's number. The way he said it and the way he looked at me with complete distrust made me decide to rather leave everyone at the restaurant and drive home to go and fetch my wallet. At the table my one Son said that he has his card with him. I eft'd him the money and he then paid the bill.....

All in all this could have been handled better.....a bit more accommodating from the Managers side with a little bit less attitude.....when we left I said we will not be back and that it is a pity because we do like going there....He shrugged his shoulders and said its ok....some more words followed .......anyway we will miss CB Durbanville but they won't miss...

Yesterday we took our Seniors from our Church for their Year end lunch. When we enquired about wheelchair access and a ramp, we were told there was none... unfortunately we made the enquiry late and after we had already paid a non refundable deposit.

When most of the Seniors had arrived, i suggested they start dishing from the buffet as many were hungry by the time we got there and we were told we cannot as we had to wait for the last group of 5 from our party to arrive...we would then be handed plates for our food and also told that each person could only dish twice - none of this was made known or explained to us when we made the booking.

Having no wheelchair access and or ramps is not lawful. This is discrimination against those who have disabilities...access to the toilets are even worse! The wheelchair bound patrons had panic attacks trying to access these teeny tiny toilets.

You have to put a disclaimer in your website please and if people ask to book for seniors ASK them if there are any people coming in wheelchairs!!

Access to your restaurant is via a staircase...we had ro carry the ladies up in their wheelchairs!! Then to tell us you have many 90 odd year olds who run up and down your stairs is sarcastic and in poor...

My girlfriend and I went with her friends to get dinner on a Sunday evening, we had a very enjoyable time there. The only issues I really had was the pricing. We got our food for half price as they run a special on Sunday afternoons, but ordinarily the burger would be R150 which is a decent amount of money considering what you get. Same story with the calamari, we would recommend going when it is a Sunday evening or when they run their half price specials. I had a lime milkshake, which was ok not great. She had a coke which was really small 200ml and was rather expensive considering. Burger was good, nice meat patty with a well done egg and bacon. Overall a nice 3.5/5 burger. Fries were meh, nothing exceptional. Calamari was good, similar to any fish and chips place. Also like 3.5/5. Cost is quite high, except during the specials. Service was very good, waiter was very helpful and polite. Environment was also quite nice, calm and relaxed. It was quite empty when we went to be fair.

Spent Christmas at Cattle Baron durbanville. Wasn’t all bad but the staff definitely seemed a bit unprepared for the influx of people who had booked. Would’ve been nice to be told upfront that upon ordering food would take 45 minutes to an hour. After waiting +30 minutes then we were only told this after communicating. It is assumed that restaurants are preparing ahead of time for Christmas especially when there’s a set menu. Waiter Eloff was great but also didn’t have answers to all our questions which isn’t ideal for any restaurant. Food was decent but not all portions were warm which was disappointing given the long wait. Dessert was decent too but serving ice-cream & bar one sauce with barely any sauce doesn’t seem fair. Not too sure if the meal was worth R395. I’ve had better for less. But worth a try, just wouldn’t be back.

Latest visit on 13 August ‘24: Table 21 for six booked this time. Once again, we all received exactly what we ordered. Thank you Christina! My 200g steak was so good, delicious! I enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch with 3 family members! They had the plated option with lamb, chicken, gammon, roast potatoes and veg. I chose the 300g sirloin steak with mushroom sauce and baby potatoes - all so tasty and cooked perfectly according to preference (M - W). Much appreciated! For dessert, 2 of our group chose ice-cream with Bar-One sauce and 2 of us chose the delectable chocolate fondant. We sat at table 16. Our waiter and the other staff were all friendly, courteous and professional. It was my first visit to this Cattle Baron and I would definitely recommend it.
