I had the incredible pleasure of attending the acoustic show featuring Tasché Burger and Matthew Duncan at Die Boer, and I can confidently say that it deserves a resounding 5-star review!
From the moment I purchased my tickets to the email reminders leading up to the show, every aspect of the experience was nothing short of top-class. Even placing our food order via telephone call was seamless and efficient.
The entire staff at 'Die Boer' exceeded expectations, from the welcoming hostess to the attentive waiter who ensured our dining experience was delightful. Speaking of the food, it was not only delicious but beautifully presented especially the dessert that a delectable finale to our meal.
The main event - Tasché and Matthew's performance. Their voices are a true force to be reckoned with, and it's clear that their musical talent knows no bounds. What struck me most was the genuine camaraderie and close bond between them, which added a delightful layer of humor and warmth to the evening.
As they sang the lyrics of the songs, I found myself laughing, crying, and fully immersed in the raw emotion and passion they poured into their music. This show was a magical journey through the power of music, and I couldn't find a single fault in any step leading up to the event.
Tasché Burger and Matthew Duncan's performance was a night to remember, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable evening filled with incredible music, laughter, and heartfelt moments....
Read moreWe recently attended a show at Die Boer, and I must say the theatre and entertainment truly are top-class. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the performances are always a highlight — talented artists, great acoustics, and a venue that perfectly sets the stage for an enjoyable night out.
Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. We waited more than an hour and a half for our food, with no explanation or updates from our waiter during that time. When our food finally arrived, we were disappointed by the portion sizes, especially considering the high prices. The value for money simply isn’t there.
To make matters worse, when we wanted to order dessert, we were told that they had run out of most options. The waiter vaguely mentioned that there might be one crème brûlée left, or ice cream with sauce — a clear sign of poor planning and stock management, particularly for a venue that knows it will have a full house on show nights.
Die Boer remains an excellent choice for its shows, but I truly hope management reconsiders their menu pricing, portion sizes, and overall service standards. The dining experience should match the quality of the theatre, and sadly, it falls far short...
Read moreAttended the Cohen and Diamond show on Wednesday March 2023 and the music was great. I've seen Matthys live 20+ plus times but first time live for Johan. Close your eyes and Neil Diamond is standing next to you. WOW. However, some of the food was disappointing. Ordered four Pap and vleis at our table(R225) , one Boere Burger and a Bobotie. The original recipe was small fillet medallions beautifully presented around a pap flavoured with blue cheese and sun dried tomatoes. Now it was a piece of very sinewy sirlion drowned with basting sauce and slapped onto a heap of pap. Overpowering blue cheese flavour on the pap and the meat cut not up to par. Rather give me half of the portion but good quality. And don't bring basting sauce close to proper meat, please. The bobotie my daughter ordered was oily, the custard was runny on top. The ribs and burgers that came out was looking good, but that meals i can have anywhere. I will have to explore other theater restaurants in the area...
