As Ocean Basket enthusiasts we jumped at the idea of trying out the new location everyone has been raving about in Durbanville. Sitting down in this Mediterranean-styled oasis, we were whisked away to what felt like a getaway everyone could afford. However, reality became the tables talk when welcomed with menus that had an unidentifiable sticky brown substance on just to be replaced with another menu that had its very own questionable residue on. As no stranger to the menu, we wrapped up our food and drinks order with ease. The mock pina-colada ordered was merely concentrated syrup over ice cubes which when brought up with the on site manager was taken away with a giggle and returned with a lumpy slushy. A few minutes later it was the main courses moment to shine. To be served the infamous classic fish and chips which with the amount of edge pieces was clearly the last in the bag that no one wanted and to top it all off a R96 med Salmon bowl that barely filled the dish, served with yesterday stale rice was the ending of our Mediterranean experience. Honestly if I could rate a 0 on here I would. Out of all the OB we've been to, this was by far the worst experience yet! We are big fans of OB and love to go to OB Tygervalley and V&A, however decided to visit the new location in Durbanville and what a mistake. Very first impression as we entered, horrible, no one received us at the door for seating, we waited for about 10mins before someone attended to us. Once we've been seated, we waited roughly another 15 mins just to receive menu's.

We decided to order all at once, because it might be a slow evening with service. We order 2x starters, 2x mains and 2x cappuccino's. We waited over an hour before receiving anything we ordered. We first received our mains, which was cold, then after we finished eating, we received our starters which was disgustingly cold and I asked for our cappuccino's which was the best part of the evening.
