I have dined here 4 times and one of the highlights of Parafish is its sushi buffet, which offers excellent value for money. The portions are generous, and full of flavour. As a vegetarian, I'm pleased to report that Parafish offers an array of options both on the main menu and the buffet that cater to non-fish eaters like myself. My favourite dishes to order being the Veg Roma, Veggie Lovers, and Inari. However, I must admit that there's room for improvement when it comes to the sweet options on the buffet. A few tweaks to enhance the dessert selection would undoubtedly elevate the dining experience even further. They have a good drinks menu, and my friends and I love their Mango Daiquiri.

The ambiance and decor might lack a bit of flair, but what it lacks in aesthetics, it makes up for with their food. Good restaurant choices for dining with a partner, a group of friends or family.

Occasionally, there might be a slight inconsistency in the time between placing and receiving drinks and buffet orders, but it's never a deal-breaker. On a recent visit, my partner and I experienced exceptional service despite being informed of staffing shortages by the manager. Their dedication to ensuring a positive dining experience truly shone through, leaving us impressed by their professionalism and attentiveness.

Good amount of seating in the restaurant. They offer and upstairs and downstairs seating. You are able to reserve a table. On the last occasions that I made a reservation, I was asked if I would prefer a table upstairs or downstairs. Despite choosing a table upstairs there was only a downstairs table available for my group and I upon arrival.

If you find yourself in Durbanville craving quality sushi at an affordable price, Parafish is definitely...

I've been here a few times and usually have a very good experience. Sushi is normally very fresh and generous, and alright quality for the price, and the staff is usually very good. Went here again recently for a sushi buffet date and arrived at 8pm. We told the staff on arrival that we will be gone before 10pm (when they close) as reassurance, and we got weird looks but they said it's okay and welcomed us in. The buffet itself was good - although I found on some of the pieces (like salmon roses) they were inconsistent and skimpy on the salmon (barely covered the full piece). I also had tuna maki and my partner ordered quite a few portions with tuna, and it wasn't off but it wasn't exactly fresh tuna... so that was a bit iffy and left that "unfresh fish taste" in our mouths. We got the bill at around 9:15pm or 9:20ish PM and the waiter commented saying we should come earlier next time as it's more vibey, but we had the impression that he didn't like us saying late. We got looks from the waiters the entire time while eating as if they didn't want us there. Perhaps they wanted to close early that night, I get it, I've been a waitress and waiting for that last table can feel long, but we still left with almost an hour to spare before their closing time. We were never told whether they planned on closing early. The manager did check on us at some point and he was very friendly? I don't know. Just disappointed about the tuna, the consistency of the amount of fish on each sushi piece, and feeling like we did something wrong by coming here at 8PM and leaving before closing time. I will come by again to give them another chance since prior experiences were good, but I'll go not...

If I could rate this minus stars I would rate it -10 ! Our night started off with the waiter telling me he would charge us a higher price than what was listed in their menu because of their system! Price advertised is the price you pay. Sort out your system. We ordered the sushi buffet and waited 40mins between our orders being served- the restaurant was NOT full. When the sushi arrived it was not fresh, smelled fishy and most of it looked nothing like what was pictured on the menu. We spoke to the waiter several times asking when I order will be arriving , to which he answered they are busy with it, which was a complete lie because he had no clue what was going on. Another 20mins passed and the same report given by the waiter. We requested to see the manager, who was full of attitude and unprofessional, he complained about his work load and stated that he had three jobs to do. And it’s our fault for not requesting to see him sooner. Again not our problem. He proceeded to threaten us aggressively , and telling us HE WILL MATCH OUR ENERGY!

NO APOLOGIES RECEIVED, ABSOLUTE INCOMPETENCE, POOR MANAGEMENT, TERRIBLE SERVICE AND TERRIBLE FOOD. In the end we left, we ordered the buffet, arrived at Parafish at 5:45pm and left 2hrs later, we ordered 3 orders between 3 people and only received 2 of the three in 2hrs, the sushi chefs had no clue how to manage the orders or manage their time.

WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING NOR RECOMMENDING, UNLESS THEIR IS A CHANGE IN MANAGEMENT, IMPROVED STAFF TRAINING AND AN IMPROVEMENT IN YOUR FOOD...

First time visiting Parafish Sushi in Durbanville and I have to admit it was the best sushi I’ve ever had. In terms of quality, taste and variety, everything was great. We visited month end on a Friday so it was very busy. We were lucky to get the last open table and the fact that they were packed on 2 floors was a clear indication that this place was popular. We each ordered the “all you can eat” sushi buffet which was R218 if memory serves me correctly. We only managed to eat 13 dishes between the two of us and it was all top quality, good size portions and very tasty. Honestly I think we don’t need to eat sushi anywhere else anymore, this is now our favourite spot. The restaurant is situated inside a small mall, there is underground parking, plenty of rest rooms in the mall as well as in the restaurant. There’s elevator access from the underground parking and wheelchair accessible entrance for those that need. Plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs. The staff were very friendly, we were greeted and checked on by multiple staff from arriving to make sure we had been helped. There was a little wait for the food to come but that’s understandable as they were packed. However it wasn’t too long and we never felt like we needed to complain. I highly recommend Parafish Sushi for anyone who really enjoys their sushi and wants to sit in a nice restaurant rather than eat take always or at a side walk fast food type or spot. I would recommend making a reservation as it looks like it’s a very popular busy place. Enjoy!

I have had people referring me to Parafish for some time, and I had my 1st chance to go on 16 July. The setting isn't a typical sushi spot with a large conveyor belt, and for the buffet you must order directly off the menu. I do prefer a more traditional sushi setting, but that is not to say I did not like Parafish in any way. They have Happy hour every day from 4pm - 6pm, but be sure you realise that the cocktail menu you receive is with the actual happy hour prices already reflecting. We missed this and our bill was a bit more than anticipated, but this was our own fault. The food is really nice, loads of flavours, freshly made and I simply do not have an issue with it whatsoever. The portions are small, but that is actually a benefit, because with the buffet, if you dont eat you, you must pay for it, so being offered smaller portions is by far the best and you can always order more and more if you want. The desserts were not the best, but I would give it a solid 3 out of 5. However, the rest of the food was really great as mentioned above. The alcohol, like many places, can be pricey if you let it but that is more overall than specific to Parafish. I would definitely go there again, and I also recommend it for good, quality sushi and chinese food. The buffet comes in standard or premium, and to be honest, the price difference is not that much, but also that there isn't much difference between the two barring a few things here and there.
