Alright, alright, alright! Lemme tell ya somethin' about this place, Remo's Italian! You think you know Italian food? Nah, you don't know nothin' until you step foot in this joint!
Now, y'all know me, right? I'm a South African, a carnivore! I see a plate of pasta, I'm like, "Where's the steak? Where's the biltong? What is this stringy, carb-filled nonsense?" I ain't touched a noodle in almost ten years, my friends. Ten years! My stomach had forgotten what a carb even looked like!
But then, BAM! They hit you with these starters. Oh, the starters! I'm talkin' about appetizers so good, you start questionin' your whole life's philosophy. You're like, "Maybe... maybe I do like vegetables? Maybe this is the way?"
And then, the moment of truth. That first forkful of pasta. I'm tellin' you, by the time that first taste hit my tongue, I was ready to throw my South African passport in the air, yell "Mamma Mia!" and start practicin' my Italian hand gestures right there at the table! I was ready to convert, baby! Forget braais, forget boerewors, I was ready for a new life, a life of pasta and passion!
The music? It's got you swayin' like you're in a gondola. The staff? They ain't just servin' food, they're puttin' on a show! The atmosphere? It's so thick with Italian charm, you can practically taste the olive oil in the air! Everything about this place, from the moment you walk in, just screams, "Embrace your inner Italian!" You'll be talkin' with your hands, makin' exaggerated facial expressions, and suddenly everything's "magnifico!"
Seriously though, this ain't just a restaurant, it's an experience. Probably one of the best I've ever been to. So if you see me walkin' around with a little chef's hat and a tiny moustache, don't be surprised. Remo's...
Read moreGreat food, but the customer service ruined it. We arrived and the manager gave us a whole speech saying we should’ve booked a table in advance, and there were free tables right in front of us. After that, we sat down and order appetizers and food. We were lucky we got the appetizers, because the main dishes were forever lost. After 30 minutes waiting, we asked what was the status and they said “coming right out”. 15 minutes after that, the manager came to us and said they had big tables that were waiting, but again, the food “was coming right out”. 10 minutes after that we gave the manager an ultimatum, saying we were ready to leave if the food wasn’t in the making. This time we actually saw the kitchen taking our order and coming 10 minutes after asking for the 3rd time. During all this waiting, no waiter or manager came to see if we were okay or even apologize for the delay, they simply disappeared and turned the back on us. We had to ask for the check to the people working at the bar, so they would call them let us leave. Check came with “standard 10% tip fee” in the total, as if there wasn’t an option to not pay for a service we didn’t get. It kind of felt that didn’t care because we were tourist and they had a lot of big tables. Also, our hotel recommended this place, and we’re also disappointed we had such a bad experience. Overall, do...
